Willow Creek Farm is a private, gated, family owned stable in Sycamore, IL. My husband and I live on the property with over 30 years of horse experience we specialize in, but are not limited the care taking of current and retired show horses. We also offer lessons both english & western to riders of all ages and levels of experience. Lessons amenities:
Heated stall barn to tack up
Indoor and outd

oor arenas (for lessons year round)
Mounted & unmounted lessons
Focused on rider goals & developing a tailored curriculum for each rider
Leveled riding curriculum grounded in safety and correct horsemanship in addition to rider progression


Farm amenities inlclude:
Two outdoor arenas
Two round pens
Indoor arena
Heated stall barn
Large stall fans in the summer
Indoor heated wash rack, hot and cold water
Grass & sand turnout
Someone is ALWAYS on the property
Trailer parking
2 water buckets
Hay 3xs a day, grain 2xs

We’re looking to add dependable, hardworking people to our barn team!

We currently have openings for:
Saturday | 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
OR
Sunday | 8:00 AM–1:00 PM — General Barn Chores
OR
Sunday | Stall Cleaning

***Please note: Sunday general barn chores and Sunday stall cleaning are TWO SEPARATE POSITIONS.

This is a hands-on position working directly with horses and helping keep our farm running smoothly. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Feeding & turnout
• General barn chores
• Horse care and attention to detail
• Keeping the barn clean & organized
• Helping with the day-to-day operation of the farm

Applicants MUST:
• Be 18 years or older
• Have previous horse-handling experience
• Be reliable and punctual
• Be comfortable working outdoors in Illinois weather
• Be able to work independently AND as part of a team
• Take pride in excellent horse care and maintaining a clean, organized barn
• Be comfortable with the physical demands of barn work

*Preference to long term applicants, if you're looking to work for a semester or for a few months that will be challenging for us.

🎓✨ Congratulations to our very first Lesson Horse Legacy Scholarship recipients! ✨🎓

We are so proud to celebrate this incredible accomplishment and the dedication, growth, and love of horses that made this scholarship so deserving.

It is incredibly special to see our students not only grow as riders, but also discover how much horses can change our lives!

We are looking forward to awarding and celebrating this scholarship for many, many years to come! What a wonderful beginning to something we hope will become a lasting part of the Willow Creek Farm community.

We are mostly recovered from our Willow Creek Farm Student Horse Show, and in our humble opinion, this may have been our best one yet! 🐴❤️ The competition was FIERCE — seriously! Our equitation on the flat riders certainly know how to sit on a horse, that’s for sure! We couldn’t be more proud of the effort, sportsmanship, and horsemanship we saw throughout the day.

We want to take this opportunity to once again thank all of our incredible sponsors who supported us through monetary sponsorships, donated products, gift cards, and prizes. We are also so grateful to our award creators, volunteers, spectators, families, and friends who came out to support our riders and, ultimately, support the horse industry we all love so much. ’Twas the Night Before the Willow Creek Farm Student Horse Show

’Twas the night before the Willow Creek Farm Student Horse Show,
And all through the barn, there was a warm, happy glow.
The horses were nestled in fresh, cozy stalls,
While riders dreamed of tomorrow’s rides and all.

The tack had been polished, the patterns were set,
The arena was ready, the stage had been met.
The volunteers worked, the last details were done,
Tomorrow would bring a whole day full of fun.

Some riders were nervous, some eager to ride,
With hopes for a ribbon and dreams tucked inside.
But here at Willow Creek, we know what is true—
It’s not just about winning, or what ribbons you do.

It’s learning to listen, to work, and be kind,
To get back in the saddle with a determined mind.
It’s cheering a friend on and trusting your horse,
And finding the courage to stay the course.

Because horses make families, and friendships, and dreams.
They teach us far more than they first may seem.
And every rider who enters our ring
Has already accomplished a wonderful thing.

So here’s to our riders, our families, our crew,
To our instructors and volunteers—who make it all come true.
To every lesson horse, both steady and small,
Who has left a little piece of themselves with us all.
