Another custom build finished 🔥

This one was inspired by the arid, rocky regions of northwest and central Australia, so we focused on rugged cliffs, layered basking ledges, natural texture, and deep earthy tones to make it feel straight out of the outback.

People see the finished enclosure, but they don’t see the late nights, the mess, the carving, painting, mixing textures, second guessing every detail, and standing back together saying “okay wait… this is actually sick.” 😂

Just two people with too many ideas and a love for reptiles turning empty tanks into something wild… and of course we’re already planning the next build.

Can’t wait to get the future residents moved in 🧡

Some couples watch movies together. Some go out every weekend. Meanwhile, my husband and I turn plain glass boxes into tiny living worlds and honestly… we can’t explain how much we love it.

There’s something so rewarding about standing back together at the end of the night looking at a finished enclosure like, “Wait… WE made this?” 🥹

From the very first layer of foam to planting the final pothos, it’s become one of our favorite hobbies together. Every build is different. Every enclosure has its own personality. And somehow turning chaos into something beautiful never gets old.

My friend came over yesterday gecko shopping for a family member and the SECOND we opened Mellow’s enclosure, this man said: 👁️👅👁️

Absolutely no survival instincts. No introduction. No dignity. Just straight into his ‘pick me girl’ era 😂

Our hearts are absolutely shattered for this family. Sometimes life hits people with things no family should ever have to walk through, and watching people you love hurt this deeply is unbearable.

This family has always been the kind of people who show up for others without hesitation. They are loved beyond words, and right now they need their community to wrap around them the same way they’ve wrapped around so many others.

People see an egg and think “just an egg,” but inside there’s an entire developing embryo growing through an incredible process. Tiny toes, eyes, organs, scales, and body structures are forming while the embryo absorbs nutrients from the yolk that help support its development. As they continue growing, movement becomes easier to see and hatch day gets closer.

Watching these little lives develop never stops amazing me and is one of the coolest parts of working with reptiles.

Nature is absolutely incredible. 💛
