Mark your calendar for June 9th-10th to support MHS during NH Gives! 🗓

NH Gives is a 24-hour fundraising event with more than 700 nonprofits across New Hampshire rallying support for the causes that make our communities stronger.

At MHS, our goal is to raise $15,000 in just 24 hours to help the animals in our care!

When you give to MHS during NH Gives on June 9th and 10th, you help provide safe shelter, urgent medical care, compassionate support, and second chances for animals like Beanie. 🐱🐾

PET OF THE WEEK

Princess
5-year-old spayed female, Pitbull mix

Princess is a 5-year-old pitty mix who’s equal parts sweet, loyal, and affectionate. She’s a people-loving girl who enjoys spending time with her family and has done well with kids. Princess is friendly with strangers overall, though she can be a little cautious around men at first and may need a bit of time to warm up before showing her full goofy, loving personality.

She previously lived with another dog and did well with him, but her experience with animals outside of her home is very limited. Because of her history, we strongly recommend Princess be the only dog in the home so she can relax and enjoy being the center of attention.

In return, she’ll be a devoted companion who’s happy to soak up love, attention, and cozy time with her people.

Princess needs to be in a home in New Hampshire as she is currently being treated for heartworm. We are hopeful that in a quiet environment she will be able to continue on her road to recovery.

🐾 Happy Tail: Peanut! 🐾

This week’s SwampBats x Happy Tail spotlight is Peanut! ⚾ 🐾

We are so excited to share that Peanut is settling into her forever home beautifully! Her person says she loves long walks, meeting new people, car rides, relaxing in the grass, and visiting the brook. Peanut is also a total cuddle bug who is always asking for pets and affection!

We couldn’t be happier for Peanut and her wonderful family as they begin this new chapter together. 💕

Happy Tails Night, hosted by MHS and Keene SwampBats, is next Saturday, June 6th at Alumni Field! This meaningful evening is all about celebrating happy endings, community support, and the amazing resilience of the animals whose lives have been changed through compassion and care.

We Need Morning Cat Care Volunteers! 🐈

Love cats and have some free time in the mornings? We’re looking for volunteers to help care for our cats from 8:00 AM–10:30 AM. Duties include feeding, cleaning, refreshing water, and giving our feline friends some much-needed love and attention.

The best part? You can choose the days that work for your schedule!

Whether you can help once a week or multiple mornings, we’d love to have you join our team and make a difference for the animals in our care. ❤️🧡🩵

‼️ URGENT FOSTER NEEDED ‼️

We are currently looking for a foster who can take care of this momma and her three puppies!

Please only apply if you meet the following foster requirements:

-Live in New Hampshire within 40 minutes of MHS.

-Puppies are 3 weeks old, BUT beginning at 4 weeks old, bring the puppies and mom in every two weeks for exams and wellness check-ups.

-Ability to keep the mother and puppies separated from all other household pets.

-Momma needs a calm and quiet home to help her settle in with her pups.
