🐾🌎 WORLD RABIES DAY — SEPTEMBER 28 🌎🐾

Rabies is a serious disease, but there’s something incredibly powerful we can do to protect our pets, our families, and our communities: VACCINATE! 💉❤️

🐶🐱 Keeping your pet’s rabies vaccination up to date is one of the most important things you can do for their health and safety. Rabies is nearly always fatal once clinical signs appear, but it is preventable through vaccination.

World Rabies Day is a great reminder to check those vaccine records and make sure your furry family members are protected. 🐾

At Lashley Animal Hospital, we’re here to help keep your pets happy, healthy, and protected—because prevention is always worth it! 💕🐕🐈

🐾🩷 Senior pets deserve a little extra TLC! 🩷🐾

Meet Gracie, our sweet 12-year-old Shih Tzu, showing us just how important routine senior bloodwork can be. 🐶🩸

As our pets get older, their bodies can change in ways that aren’t always obvious on the outside. Regular bloodwork helps our veterinary team look for early signs of changes involving the kidneys, liver, blood cells, blood sugar, and other important aspects of your pet’s health.

For senior pets, catching changes early can make a BIG difference. ❤️

Gracie may not be thrilled about her blood draw, but she’s doing a great job—and we’re proud of this brave girl! 🥰🐾

If your pet is entering their senior years, talk with us about a wellness plan that includes routine bloodwork. Because our goal isn’t just more years—it’s more happy, healthy years together. 💕🐶

🐶💙 Happy Responsible Dog Ownership Day! 💙🐶

Being a responsible dog parent is about more than giving belly rubs and sharing snacks (although those are VERY important 😉). It’s about giving our pups the care, attention, and love they need to live their happiest, healthiest lives! 🐾

Here are a few ways to be the best dog parent possible:

🩺 Keep up with regular wellness exams and preventative care
💉 Stay current on recommended vaccinations
🦟 Protect against heartworms, fleas, and ticks
🦷 Don’t forget those pearly whites — dental care matters!
🥕 Feed a balanced, appropriate diet and maintain a healthy weight
🏃‍♀️ Provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and mental stimulation
🐕 Practice training, socialization, and good leash manners
❤️ Give them plenty of love, patience, and attention

At Lashley Animal Hospital, we’re proud to partner with pet parents to help keep their four-legged family members healthy for all the adventures ahead. 🐾💙

💙🐾 Proud to Support Our Community! 🐾💙

At Lashley Animal Hospital, we believe caring for our community goes beyond the walls of our hospital. That’s why we’re proud to support the Swansea, Illinois Rotary Club and the meaningful work they do right here in our community. 🤝🇺🇸

Rotary is built around “Service Above Self” — bringing people together to make a positive difference through service, community projects, supporting local organizations, and creating opportunities for people to thrive. 🌎❤️

We’re grateful for organizations like the Swansea Rotary Club that dedicate their time, energy, and resources to making Swansea and the surrounding communities stronger. When local businesses, organizations, and neighbors work together, great things happen! 🙌

Thank you, Swansea Rotary, for all you do. We’re honored to stand alongside you and support your mission of service above self. 💙

🐾 Together, we can make a difference — one community at a time!

🐾💙 Meet Koda! 💙🐾

Koda came to see us for his heartworm test, but he’ll be the first to tell you… vet visits can be a little nerve-wracking! 🥺🐶

Our team knew Koda needed a little extra patience and TLC, so we took things at his pace — plenty of gentle reassurance, calm voices, lots of love, and, of course, some well-deserved treats. 🦴💕 Before long, those nervous vibes started to fade, and Koda was feeling much more comfortable!

We know that every pet is different, and sometimes a little extra time and kindness can make all the difference. ❤️ Our goal is to make every visit as positive, low-stress, and fear-free as possible.

And while Koda may not have been a fan of the heartworm test, we’re pretty sure he was a fan of the snacks! 😉🐾

Great job, Koda! We’re so proud of you! 💙

Does your pet get nervous at the vet? Tell us below — we’d love to hear what helps them feel more comfortable! 👇🐶🐱

🌈🐾 National Pet Memorial Day 🐾🌈

Today, we remember the beloved pets who may no longer be by our side, but will always have a place in our hearts. ❤️

Our pets become family. They greet us at the door, comfort us on hard days, make us laugh, and fill our lives with countless memories. When they cross the Rainbow Bridge, their paw prints remain forever. 🐾🌈

Today is a beautiful opportunity to honor their memory — whether it’s by looking through old photos, sharing a favorite story, lighting a candle, or simply taking a quiet moment to remember the love you shared.

At Lashley Animal Hospital, we know that saying goodbye to a beloved companion is never easy. We are honored to have cared for so many cherished pets throughout their lives and to have been trusted by their families during both the joyful and difficult moments. 💙

Share the name or a favorite memory of a pet you’re remembering today. 🐶🐱🐰🐾
They may be gone from our arms, but they’re never gone from our hearts. ❤️

🌈 Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever a part of the family. 🌈

Remembering September 11, 2001

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the incredible courage and sacrifice shown on September 11, 2001.

We honor the first responders, firefighters, law enforcement officers, military members, volunteers, and everyday heroes who stepped forward when our nation needed them most. ❤️💙

May we never forget the lives, stories, and acts of kindness that came from one of the darkest days in our history.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🐾💙 Everybody say hello to Gatsby! 💙🐾

At just 12 weeks old, this adorable French Bulldog already has us completely wrapped around his little paw!

Gatsby stopped by Lashley Animal Hospital for his first puppy visit, and we were SO excited to meet him! 🎉🩺

Those first visits are an important part of starting your puppy off on the right paw. We get to check their overall health, talk about vaccines and parasite prevention, discuss nutrition and behavior, and answer all those “Is this normal?!” puppy questions. 🐾

And of course… there were plenty of puppy snuggles involved. 😍

Welcome to the Lashley family, Gatsby! We can’t wait to watch you grow! 💙🐶

Help us welcome Gatsby in the comments! 👇🐾
