Please share: Does anyone know this small male dog? He’s a sweet boy, 2 blue eyes and has been groomed! He has to have a family out there looking for him. He was found on White Pine Lane in Frametown.

All cat spay and neuter vouchers from the 2026 grant award through the West Virginia Spay and Neuter Voucher Program have been given out at this time. In honor of America's 250th Birthday we are discounting our normally💲1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ adoption rate, down to just 💲5️⃣0️⃣ for the ENTIRE MONTH OF JULY. (This adoption rate includes: spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, DAPPv vaccine, kennel cough vaccine, flea/tick preventative and deworming.)
Our shelter is currently 🚨at capacity🚨 and we would love to see our dogs get the summer they truly deserve with a family to love. Because we are a no-kill facility, and we are a small facility, we keep a never-ending waitlist for dogs to come in as kennel space becomes available. We did it again! ❤️
Braxton County Animal Shelter received an award in the mail from the Best Friends Animal Society for saving 90% or more of the animals in our shelter for the year 2025.
Our live release rate in 2025 was at 93%.
Best Friends Animal Society is a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. According to the organization, "this award represents a culture of caring and compassion, a dedicated staff, innovative programming and extraordinary leadership."
This award is super important to our shelter and it’s staff because it represents the work put in on a daily basis.
We want to say THANK YOU to our community for adopting and advocating for our shelter pets, and our rescue partners - Awesome Paws Rescue, for always supporting, pulling, fostering and helping with transporting. We also appreciate each and every rescue who has offered to jump in and help along the way! 7 Hearts Maternity Rescue, Volunteers For Animals, 716 PAWS and anyone else who may have been a helping hand.
We encourage the public to help us continue to achieve this goal for years to come through adoption, rescue, fostering, donating, volunteering or sharing the wonderful animals we have up for adoption with others.

This is the message I received:
Would you do me a favor and share the pic around to see if anyone wants to give the blonde dog a forever home. She needs spayed and I will pay 100.00 toward the spay if someone takes her. Prefer her to go in Wv so I can make sure she has a good home. She is not a good fit with my older dog.
She added that the dog is full grown and a year old. Supposed to be a lab/husky mix but she's not sure that is correct. However, she does need to be around dogs ONLY no cats, chickens, or goats

Ensure your pet has your most current contact information on them before the fireworks start!
Even duct tape and a sharpied phone number on a collar is better than no contact info and an over crowded shelter. 🐾❤️🇺🇸
