Its breeding time ❤️💘

The boys are acting like wild animals. Destroying fences and hay feeders. Pulling hay out all over the ground and trying to break horn scars off. It has been a wild week here for the herd. Jukebox covered all his assignments in just 1 week. And Gingerbread Man has 1 possibly 2 girls left. Our kidding pens will be full and doubled up it seems come March. As almost all the ladies decided to sync up and get covered within 3 days of each other. We just have Nitro and Pocus left to figure themselves out as Nitro is very gentle and not very controlling yet, Pocus is definitely in charge and not wanting anything to do with Nitro. Now we watch for any doe's needing repeated.

I guess breve style because holly 🐄, look at the cream line on the very bottom of the jar. I wish I knew which girl was producing this gorgeous cream. And I really wish we had a cream separator right about now because, Hello 🧈 Butter!
(We are mixing all the milk and drying them off for the season.)

The official 2027 Breeding Plan:

We have 11—yes, 11—goats kidding in 2027; how did that even happen? We may have snuck in a new doe that is very related to a couple of goats here; can you find her? Big things are planned for 2027, including milk testing, senior does looking for new homes in the summer, and hopefully participating in LA scoring again.

We will have a limited amount of bucklings available, as most may be pet wethers. Please send us a message to get on our list for a paring your interested in. As always deposits are required after kids are born, and will need picked up by 6-8 weeks old. If you do not respond to messages or send deposits within 4hrs of being notified about your goat kid, animals will be offered to the next person available.

Check out our Jr herd sire for 2026.

Jukebox is truly one handsome boy, and we are so lucky he is here with us. I will never forget driving 21hrs to pick him up from Meander Mountain Farm in SoCal.

Jukebox will be used mostly on our Jr doelings, and a couple of our senior girls. We are very excited to see the udders his future daughters will produce and hopefully he can help improve attachment and udder hight on our low hanging girls.

2027 will be looking colorful and very chocolate (colored goats) 🍫

It seems like we just finnished goat season and we are already getting ready for breeding season again in Just 2 short weeks. We didn't anticipate the goats would still be milking by now. But we are getting down to milking every other day. And they still haven't figured out that they need to dry up. I guess thats normally a good thing. But kind of difficult when moving the bucks in.

We still need to get updated photos of our Jr herd sire and 4 2026 yearling doe's that will be bred for late May kidding. So we will be posting those posters later. We have some very exciting pairs coming up for 2027. It will be hard to choose who stays and who goes. We have choose to do a few repeat breedings due to not getting any doelings this last year from that pair, or to now be able to offer extra doelings that we already kept offspring from. Just know, lots of blue eyes, and chocolate moonspots are in the future. (Not that flashy colors matter. Right?)
