This is Avril. This female Beagle was found in a ditch on the Mohegan Road by two volunteers, who have been fostering her. When found she had been without food and water for some time, but is doing well now.

UPDATE ON THE GARY NURSING HOME DOG:

Now called Bubba!

He does NOT have a rescue placement at this time. Bubba is a sick fellow and needs to be in the hospital for a week! 🤒

Bubba was sent to the vet by the McDowell County Humane Society today. He was heartworm and Lyme negative. He has a bad skin infection and severe upper respiratory tract infection. He will be hospitalized for one week. He can't come into the shelter until he's not contagious and put all of our dogs at risk.

We are asking if anyone would like to donate for his care to give to Beckley Veterinary Hospital. You can call them directly and give with a credit or debit card: 13042554159. Please mention that it’s for Bubba. Thank you!
