Rescuing Cujo is happy to announce that the brothers Bruce and Nemo have found their furever home!! We were sooo happy that the two boys get to live the rest of their lives together! While we’ll miss watching them play together at the rescue, we know they’re going to enjoy their new home, new family, and the adventures in their future. 🐶❤️

Miss Pepper has been cleared to have some fun again! Her wounds have almost completely healed, and she has a lot of playful energy to burn off…with her new buddy Harley! Pepper will be available for adoption soon, so let us know if you’re interested in bringing this sweet girl into your home! 🐶❤️

Update on Pepe/Pepper…the foot continues to heal, it’s all looking very good with healthy tissue forming. Her energy is great, loves to see people and we can tell she’s just bursting for the time when she can run around and play again! ❤️❤️

We are hiring part time at the shelter. You must love dogs and able to handle up to 100 lbs dogs.

It’s important to socialize the dogs with different people, is why we are looking for dog lovers who can earn above minimum wage.

Pepe’s foot continues to heal. The foot is close to normal in size, and the red and pink tissue is healthy tissue. She continues to need for it to be cleaned and bandaged, but she doesn’t mind the process. She is sooooo sweet!

Pepe Needs a Foster or Loving Home

Some of you may remember Buddy, the young dog who was caught in a trap near Eddy Creek. Despite losing his leg, Buddy has just found his forever home. His resilience and spirit touched so many hearts.

But Buddy wasn’t alone that day.

His mother, Pepe, was also caught in a trap.

Pepe’s front leg was severely injured and infected, but thanks to the incredible care from Rescuing Cujo, she is making steady progress. Her energy has returned, her red blood cell count is improving, and the chances of her keeping her leg continue to grow. What once required daily wound care is now needed only every few days.

Pepe has come a long way in her recovery, but she urgently needs a foster home where she can continue to heal in comfort and safety.

She is a sweet girl who has already endured more than any dog should. With a calm place to rest and caring humans by her side, she can continue her healing journey and hopefully find the loving home she deserves.

Rescuing Cujo is happy to announce that Buddy has found his furever home!! Buddy has been through a lot, but due to excellent care and being resilient, he’s starting to live what will become a full life. He has new dog buds to play with and wonderful humans to watch over him. A big THANK YOU to his fosters/adopters, Trap Free Montana, Footloose Montana, Missoula Veterinary Clinic, Sentinel Veterinary Specialists and Emergency, and his supporters for helping cover his vet bills and helping him through his difficult times. We’re excited to see how Buddy gets to enjoy his new life! ❤️

Pepe is doing great, she has her energy back and her red blood count is trending upward! The chances of her keeping her leg continue to improve as well. Instead of needing her wound cleaned and rebandaged daily, it’s going to every third day. Let us know if you’re interested in fostering this sweet girl while she continues to heal.

Pepe update…her spay surgery went well yesterday, and she was strong enough for the vet to remove the rest of her toe. There’s still hope that she’ll be able to keep her leg! Today, she’s doing well and is feeling much better now that the uterine infection has been removed. After cleaning the leg/paw, there appears to be plenty of pink healthy tissue, which is yet another good sign!

Update on Pepe…she lost the end bone of one of her toes, but there’s still two more connecting bones in that toe. She still has sensation in her foot, which is a positive sign. She’s still anemic, but her red blood count is stable…more tests will be conducted to try to find the cause. With the infection in her uterus, she’ll be getting spayed this Thursday, and hopefully with that infection gone, she’ll feel much better…but she’s in good spirits and very affectionate…and she’s gaining weight! ❤️❤️
