Hi friends, I wanted to give you an update on our feral cat, Tabitha. She was the mommy cat mom caught last year. She had 3 baby kittens and we ended up keeping 2 of the kittens (unfortunately because they are awful) and the other kitten was adopted by my human brother.
Tabitha was very feral, and mom was going to release her back outside after she was spayed but she got loose in the house and everyone was too scared of her to actually catch her to put her out. Mom has been trying to make friends with her but Tabitha kept attacking mom
Well a miracle has happened. Tabitha is no longer h*micidal. Mom has been giving her Churu treats for a year, which she would eat while mom was holding it but would hiss the whole time, but last month mom started brushing her while she was eating her treat. At first she attacked but then she realized she loved being brushed. Then the day came when she rolled over and showed Mom her belly. Of course when mom touched her belly she attacked, but her attacks were less violent. Mostly just hissing and a light swat. Yesterday was the big breakthrough. Mom was able to pet her head. Tabitha loves head scratches and she even started to purr.
She can only handle 2-3 minutes at a time of brushing and head scratches but she finally understands that she’s safe and loved.
