Did NOT expect my morning routine to include catching another Emu… and a Juvenile this time!
You already know how it went down if you’ve watched how I work 💪🏻🦖🐓
I actually talked to the owner and it was from the farm Ozzy and Sharron escaped from so he said just keep him if you catch him, I’m starting to see why 😂 they are a pain in the butt to catch.
I’m blown away that this guy made it so many miles to show up here to find Ozzy and Sharron.
Now the issue, he said another female escaped too, so looks like I’m about to start trying to track her just like I did the others. Coyotes, mountain lion, wolves run thick out here… there’s no way she’ll survive if she’s not found.
I’ll keep yall updated but I guess welcome the new boy to the Mob… yea we officially have a ‘mob’ of emus! (mob is the term for a group of emus or kangaroos)
More Important, What are we gonna name him?!

18 years is a hell of a life.
But it still doesn’t feel like enough

Let’s get the tough s**t out the way, Homer has cancer. Visually Angry Cancer.

He has multiple masses, and at his amazing age of 18, surgery isn’t something I’m willing to put him through. I’ve been down this road before many times. Our vet agrees. Homer has spent enough of his life fighting to get here — I’m not making his final chapter another fight just because I’m not ready to lose him.

So I’m doing this differently. We’re going to live the absolute s**t out of whatever time Homer has left.

Adventures & Ridiculous amounts of food he probably shouldn’t have. Whatever makes this crooked old man light up, I’m doing it.

18 years is incredible. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned doing rescue, it’s that reaching an amazing age doesn’t make this part any easier. You’re grateful as hell for every extra year while somehow still wanting one more.

Yesterday was $5 Friday, so today we’re turning it into $6 Saturday for Homer and whatever antics he wants to get into.

We’ve done bucket lists for some of our rescue dogs before, and now it’s the Ranch Manager’s turn.

When that day eventually comes — Homer will be coming with me. I’ve got several dogs tattooed on my leg already and Homer will forever have his spot on my leg with the rest of the family. 👊🏻❤️‍🩹

But that’s later.

Right now, Homer is still here so we’re not mourning him yet. We’re taking the old man on one hell of a victory lap.

Let’s give him a few more stories to take with him.

Which Pet Farm Treat Wins 🏆 👀

Raven made her choice pretty dang quick… Lamb Lung wins. The wolf in her had to do the face rub before taking it to really seal the deal, as always 🐺

Single ingredient, all natural, crunchy to help clean teeth as they chew, and SUPER affordable compared to the big store brands or a trip to town.

Of course I made 2lb buckets for multi-dog households and the serious treaters (like ourselves).

And every order supports the rescue animals here at Boss Farms. Win win for the win.

The worst part of sanctuary will always be the loss. ❤️‍🩹

Keona passed away, and I needed some time away from here to process losing another piece of this family.

But sanctuary doesn’t stop when your heart hurts. There are so many animals relying on me every single day, and even a week away takes a toll. So it’s time to get back up, keep moving forward and keep this mission going — for Keona and every animal that still needs us.

Like the others we’ve lost, Keona was laid to rest beneath a tree on our Trail of Souls. A place where the animals who helped build this sanctuary will always have a home here.

I’ve also got some things coming that I’m really proud of — ways to make sure Keona and so many of the souls we’ve lost continue to have their names attached to doing good. Because I don’t want their stories to end when their lives do.

To everyone who loved Keona, followed her story, donated for her, rooted for her and treated her like part of your own family — thank you. Truly.

She was loved here. She mattered here. And she’ll always be part of Boss Farms.

Rest easy, beautiful girl. ❤️‍🩹🐺
We’ll carry it from here.

Today’s $5 Friday is for Keona and the animals who still depend on this place every day.

There’s so much to say but for now here’s a quick update. The rest I share will be more in depth but I’m still processing… I owe y’all an update though so:

•I did not successfully retrieve the wolf pups after the owner abandoned them at the property. I found out that happened and left in under a 24 hour window.
•The male is gone.
•The female is crafty, she’s never lived caged or under a humans touch.
•Her tricks outdid my tools, I used all I had.
•She ran through sedatives without missing a single step.
•CA Fish & Game can’t help, Animal Control wont help, ASPCA lost funding, Local rescues greatly dislike the ‘501c3 rescue’ owner/her reputation as a BREEDER and would not like to get involved.

I’m pretty let down and all around pi**ed how this turned out because it was ALL avoidable. I have been taking time so I don’t lash out in a manner that anger outweighs facts that will make sure this kind of s**t doesn’t happen to anymore animals.

I’ll be back with full videos and all the details but I need a second. We drained the rescue funding to make this happen so I have to get to work and get us back in a good place. I have to make sure our current animals are all good and tend to my family. I’m bringing on a trapper local to the area and we’re going to work together to try and give this hope.

I’ll be back with more updates soon. Thank you all that supported and reached out. I appreciate you.

That’s it, I’m leaving to go get the wolf dog puppies. Owner did not catch them and has officially moved off the property so I am not ok with doing anything but going to capture them. I refuse to sit and think about them alone there with no one and without their family any longer.
I talked to the new property owner and he asked if I was a magician cause how else would I capture them 😂 but he’s an awesome old man and gonna let me do whatever I need to do. So it’s GO TIME.
The fires… there are over 900 boots on the ground fighting the fire and making insane progress AND it just started RAINING! Freaking unbelievable. There is containment and getting better daily so it’s the only reason I’m able to leave.
When I get back it’s officially time to load up the trailers and start taking some of the over 1,000 animals at the fairgrounds to their homes so the works not over yet.
Come with me tomorrow to capture these kids and then let’s get back here and get to work getting everyone else’s kids home 💪🏻
Cannot thank you enough for the support during these fires. If you didn’t catch it, we raised enough for 2 evacuation trailers so we are more prepared than ever if this ever comes knocking on our door again. We still need a wolf dog trailer but I will figure that out, we aren’t stopping till we have a way to get every single animal out ourselves and then be able to help the community when we don’t need the help. I’m trying to get a mobile dog clinic that doubles as a wolf dog evac… how amazing would that be?!? More to come on that, for now… LETS GET TO WORK. Stories and live action tomorrow, see ya in the morning friends. 💪🏻🐺

BOSS farms is dealing with a life or death situation right now and we need all the help we can get. Tye is scrambling to help neighbors evacuate and this is aftermath of it. BOSS could be next, we need you know. Please spread the word.

we have a fundraiser at boss farms.com/wildfire set up timings to raise $30,000 for an evacuation trailer by the end of the day or we risk losing every animal on the sanctuary.

Structures can be rebuilt, but Raven, Hank, Petunia, they all need you!!! WWW.BOSSFARMS.COM/WILDFIRE

A neighbors horse injured from the fire. We are terrified of losing our own animals too. We must secure this transport trailer.
