Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter We are a small but mighty no-kill animal shelter located in beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. Our volunteers and employees are few but mighty. on Hwy 5.

Our current thrift store was built originally to house our thrift shop and for our animals that are up for adoption. Our Thrift store is the main monetary base for the animals we take in and for our ongoing spay/neuter financial assistance program that benefits our area animals. Those interested in helping should come to our building on Hwy 5 just south of the Morgan/Camden county line or call us at 573-374-2629. Memberships in Ozarks Kat and K9 are available. We are located just inside the northern edge of Sunrise Beach, MO. Come Visit Us!

After 1,106 days, Bo is headed HOME. 🏡
No dry eyes in the building today.
After 1,106 nights in the shelter, our handsome, deserving 11-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound Bo will spend tonight sleeping in a HOUSE.
Bo holds an incredibly special place in the hearts of every staff member and volunteer at OKK9. This sweet senior has been through so much since he arrived, including testing positive for heartworms and bravely going through treatment like the trooper he is.
He never stopped being gentle. Never stopped being sweet. Never stopped hoping his person was out there.
We have loved and cherished him through every single one of those 1,106 days, and watching him walk out to his forever home today is a moment we will never forget.
Happy forever, Bo. You earned every second of this.
Thank you to his adopter for choosing a senior, for choosing the long-stay boy, and for giving Bo the ending he so deserves.

What a beautiful and well deserved article about our shelter director Angi Uber🤍 For almost 20 years now, Angi has fiercely been an advocate for lake area pets. She does it with patience, knowledge, resilience and passion. Our organization is beyond lucky to have Angi as our fearless leader!

UPDATE📣 We are almost half way to our goal of $1000!!🌟 Can you help us share and raise the rest?

Full disclosure, this operation will cost more than $1000, so if we raise more we sure aren’t complaining!💙

At Ozarks Kat & K9, we want to make life as comfortable as possible for every dog waiting for their forever home, especially our long-term residents like Bo, who has been waiting over 1,000 DAYS for his family. He deserves a peaceful, stress-free environment while he waits for his second chance!

💚We’re fundraising to purchase vinyl-wrapped acoustic sound panels for our kennel halls. These water-resistant panels absorb echoes and improve acoustics, helping to:
- Reduce echoing barking throughout the kennels
- Decrease kennel frustration, anxiety, and stress
- Create a calmer environment for our dogs
- Improve the sound quality of the soothing music we play

Every donation, no matter the size, gets us one step closer to a quieter, happier kennel for Bo and all his friends!

At Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter, our cats are ready to add a little Halloween magic to your home! We're celebrating the spooky season with a special cat adoption event. From October 12th through the 17th, adoption fees for all cats are just $25.
