💔🐾 REN NEEDS OUR HELP — AND TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. 🐾💔
Sometimes in rescue, you think you know what you’re dealing with… and then you get news that stops you in your tracks.
Meet Ren, a beautiful little French Bulldog who is only 2½ years old. She is friendly, happy, full of love, and has plenty of Frenchie s***k! 💕🐶
But something about Ren’s ears just didn’t look right.
We suspected an ear infection and took her to our local veterinarian. Unfortunately, we learned that Ren’s ears were far beyond a simple ear infection. Her veterinarian was concerned that there was something much more serious happening and recommended that we take her to a specialist.
So today, we took Ren to Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty to get the answers she desperately needed.
And honestly… our hearts broke. 💔
Both of Ren’s ears are in horrible condition, with ruptured eardrums, most likely the result of severe, chronic, untreated ear infections.
Poor Ren has to endure this because of total neglect and chronic, untreated ear infections. 😢💔 She is only 2½ years old, yet she has likely been living with significant pain and discomfort for far too long. She didn't deserve this.
But there is hope. ❤️
The specialist told us that time is of the essence because of the pain and discomfort Ren is experiencing. She cannot continue to live this way.
Ren is now scheduled for her first ear surgery on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty. 🏥🐾
She will ultimately need surgery on both ears. The surgeries will leave Ren deaf, but she will be able to live a happy, comfortable and pain-free life—and that is what we want for this sweet little girl. ❤️🐾
The estimated cost is approximately $5,000 PER EAR, even with the rescue discount.
That means this unexpected medical emergency is going to cost the Humane Society of Calvert County more than $10,000. 💔
We certainly did not anticipate a medical need of this magnitude. But Ren is in our care now, and we made her a promise.
We promised her that she would be safe.
We promised her that she would be cared for.
And we promised her that we would do everything we can to give her the life she deserves. ❤️
We just need a little help keeping that promise.
