đ 120 Days Under Saddle đ
One of the greatest mistakes in horse training is measuring progress by how quickly a horse can perform a movement. True progress is measured by the quality of the foundation being built beneath it.
This young horse is approximately 120 days under saddle. At this stage, our focus is not on advanced movements, but on developing balance, relaxation, rhythm, straightness, and understanding. Every ride is an opportunity to improve strength, confidence, and communication.
Notice that the work remains simple. We are teaching the horse to carry itself correctly, respond softly to the aids, and move with increasing coordination and self-confidence. These early months lay the groundwork for everything that comes later.
Classical horsemanship reminds us that the horse's education is a process, not an event. Through patience, consistency, and thoughtful training, today's young horse becomes tomorrow's willing and athletic partner.
There are no shortcuts to developing a horse correctly. There is only good work, repeated day after day.
