Who's ready for this. Prettiest time of the year in my opinion. Birds singing in the background, the fresh smell of the earth coming back to life and thundering gobbles is just good for the soul.

The process of tanning and shaving hides is an art. But I fear it's a dying art. Finding one you can trust and really know what they're doing is getting harder and harder. I think it's the most important part of taxidermy when it comes to mounting mammals.

Well, this Saturday is the last chance to wrap your tag around a buck's antler for the 2025-26 season. Now that season is almost over, and you have a deer you want to have shoulder mounted or to have one boiled for a euro, please let me know asap. If you're waiting for the locker to cape it out, I'd really love to know ahead of time, this will help me schedule a time to get capes to the tanner. If you have one to be boiled and it's in the back of the truck or laying in shed, please get it to me this weekend. If it's in a freezer and you wait too long to get it to me, I most likely won't get to it till next fall. Thank you all for your business this year.

With Christmas this week, the shop will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday till noon. I will not be taking any frozen deer in for shoulder mounts this week till Friday afternoon. If a customer brings me a fully frozen deer after today 12 - 22, it will not be thawed out until Christmas eve or Christmas Day. I also have no room in my freezers for caped deer. If you have deer you want mounted, PLEASE find a freezer to put into until after Christmas. If you have a deer that's not frozen, you have till tomorrow 12 - 23 to get it to me. Thank you.
