Remember NOW is the time to plan for the 4th of July firework season. If your pet needs medications for noise anxiety call your vet today!

July 4 is just a week away‼️ The time to NOW to make a plan to protect your pets 🎆🐾

More pets are lost on the 4th of July than any other day of the year. Don't let your pet be part of that statistic:

✔️ Keep them inside
✔️ Turn on music or white noise
✔️ Give them something tasty to stay busy (peanut butter in a KONG works wonders)
❌ No fireworks shows for Fido — leave them home!

Your pet should also ALWAYS have ID in case they go missing. Need a tag or microchip? PACC is offering both for FREE through the 4th.

And if your pet goes missing (or you find one), head to lost.petcolove.org. Their photo matching technology can help reunite pets fast - without a shelter visit.

It’s the first of the month! This is the day I have chosen for heartworm/flea/tick prevention for my dogs. Prevention is a key to good health. Do you prefer the chewable tabs or the pro heart injections for heartworm control?

In May I had the pleasure of volunteering in Belize. Three days of clinics to provide free spay/neuter to dogs and cats. I love the opportunity to travel and volunteer.

On the first day of clinics we made neighborhood rounds to pick up our patients. Then at the end of the day deliver them back to their loving families. These children were so happy to have their pets taken care of.

Bringing home a new pet? Check out PACC first. My family has brought home 3 dogs from PACC, and they have all been so wonderful!

"Doc, I found a lump on my dogs belly."
Vet: "I'm not finding anything, can you point to it?"
Owner points to a ni**le.

Male dogs have ni**les! Do not feel too embarrassed if you have done this. We see it all the time.

But when you do find a real mass it can be scary. Even if you think it is nothing it can be best to make an appointment for peace of mind.

At this time the vet can discuss sampling the mass, or possibly removal if it is concerning.
