🎉🐾 HAPPY 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY, MCKENZIE! 🐾🎉

Help us celebrate McKenzie, one of our amazing Veterinary Technicians, on 1 year at Flowertown! 💙

From helping care for our patients to keeping up with whatever the day throws her way, McKenzie knows that in veterinary medicine, you never know what to expect! 😆🐶 She says that’s one of her favorite things about working here—there’s always something new, it’s never boring, and it definitely keeps you on your toes!

🫀 Fun Fact: McKenzie’s aortic arch goes the opposite direction from what’s typical! Her main artery leading to her heart is on the right side instead of the left. Talk about being a little different! 😉

🐶 Favorite animal: Dogs OR whale sharks! 🦈💙

We’re so happy to have had you as part of the Flowertown family for the past year, McKenzie! Here’s to many more years of learning, laughing, and caring for our furry (and occasionally finned 😉) friends! 🥳🐾

💙 Happy 1 Year, McKenzie! 💙

🐾❤️ SEPTEMBER PET OF THE MONTH: CORA! ❤️🐾

Meet Cora, our sweet, scrappy 5-year-old Beagle-Shih Tzu mix and our September Pet of the Month! 🥰

Cora’s name has a pretty special meaning. “Cor” is the root for heart, and when her family rescued her, she was heartworm positive. ❤️ Her story started when her mom saw a Facebook post from a concerned neighbor about a dog who was spending most of her time outside on a chain. Wanting to help, she reached out to the neighbor and owner and agreed to foster Cora through a local rescue.

Well…we all know how fostering sometimes ends. 😉 Cora became a foster fail! 🏡❤️

These days, Cora loves pup cups from Starbucks, exploring Wassamassaw Park, and shopping at Pet Supplies Plus. Her favorite activities include eating (a girl has to keep her priorities straight 😂), chasing lizards, and playing with squeaky toys!

Cora is described as a scrappy but incredibly sweet girl, and she’s certainly proven just how tough she is. She’s had a rough month, visiting Flowertown Veterinary Hospital after a minor wound from a dog altercation—and less than a month later, she was back after a snakebite! 🐍 Thankfully, this tough girl has received the care she needed and continues to show just how resilient she is. 💪🐶

We’re so happy to celebrate Cora this month and the loving family who saw a dog in need and decided to give her a chance. ❤️

Congratulations, Cora, on being our September Pet of the Month! 🎉🐾

Remembering September 11, 2001

Today, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless heroes who answered the call for help on September 11, 2001.

We also remember the search-and-rescue dogs who worked tirelessly alongside their human partners in the days that followed. 🐾 These remarkable dogs searched through the rubble, helped locate survivors, and provided comfort to first responders during one of the darkest moments in our nation's history.

Their strength, bravery, and unwavering devotion remind us of the incredible bond between people and the animals who stand beside us when we need them most.

Today, we remember the people. We remember the heroes. And we remember the dogs who served alongside them.

We will never forget. 🕊️🐾
