Happy adoption day to Miss Maggie May! 🙌🥳

In January of 2025 I brought home this pretty palomino gal from the Heart of the Horse pickup. She’s blossomed into an absolutely gorgeous, personable mare that I’m so glad I got to know over the last year and a half.

Best of wishes to sweet Maggie and her new people! 💛💛💛

Happy adoption day to Tristian and Victor! 🥳👏

Congratulations to the Arza family and these two special pony’s. I’ve had the pleasure to get to know this family over the last few years and I couldn’t have imagined a better happily ever after for the pony’s. They will be extremely well taken care of and loved for years to come!

It’s taken an army for the Mississippi Horses 97 pony’s to go from feral to fabulous and I’m glad I was able to be a part of the journey for so many of them as well as watching one of the toughest pony’s I’ve ever seen ( Tristian) become one of the most gentle, and well broke pony’s around. Giving a special thanks to Brittany Price, her step daughter Allie which was Tristian’s youth trainer, and her son Logan for all the dedication and hours they put into Tristian over the last year. He wouldn’t be half the pony he is now if it wasn’t for them! 🫶

A Sunday Funday full of traveling around Missouri and wound up bringing these two pretty mustang mares back to Kentucky for some training! Meet “Annie” and “L” both 3 year old Mustang mares that will be here to continue their training journey. It’s just the first day, but I sure like these gals and look forward to seeing what they turn into! 🤩

It’s always cool having some diversity in the barn of training horses. This is “Little Priss” a registered Saddle Bred mare that just finished 30 days of our training program. Priss is going to stay another month to continue working on becoming a better well rounded horse.

This mare has been through a handful of trainers and has reverted back to nasty/ dangerous behaviors each and every-time. She’s what I consider a problem horse, but we have made sure there’s no pain related problems and have just restarted her overall. She has her days, but she’s starting to come around to the idea of things.

It’s not typical to get a horse in for training of her breed around here let alone the behaviors that come with her, but it’s been an adventure working through. Each and every horse pushes us trainers to become better, and to expand our “tool box” so although some days are tough I’m glad to be a part of this mares training journey!

“Critter” is turning a page in his training journey and is really starting to come around to the idea of things.

Critter is a forestry service mustang and will be competing in hand at the Mustang and burro finals at the Hoosier Horse Park this month! I haven’t had much time with critter but we will try our best to show him for the horse he is! Critter will also be available at the conclusion of the event.

This is “Sundance” he came in with the roan mustang mare a few weeks ago. Sundance is also a mustang that is here for training to gain confidence, trail miles, and to overall just become a more advanced horse under saddle

Sundance has already in just a few short weeks been on multiple trails on and off the farm, hauled off property to a show and placed in the top six of each of the classes he participated in, and just over the weekend was rode in a parade!

Sundance still has some things to overcome and to get better at but he’s been a blast to have around is really going to make such a nice riding Mustang! Looking forward to seeing this gelding continue to develop under-saddle.

Just 2 weeks with this roan gal and working with her has been something. She’s one of the most fearful mustangs I’ve worked with, from pure flight or fight.

Daily handling, spending time, and letting this mare know with kindness that it’s going to be okay. Watching her go from literal flight or fight to now accepting of me being in her space, approaching her face, and using her thinking side has been such a reward.

This is the thing I love most about mustangs, this stage of gaining trust and growing a bond. There’s nothing quite like the beginning stages with these former wild ones but it’s something so special to be a part of!
