I rescued this boy four months ago. He was just roaming the streets of our old town, very lonely, so we adopted him. Since then, three people have asked if he was a JRT, and I began searching the internet. Everything I’ve found is extremely related to him, from his looks to his personality.
He’s very smart (he learned to wait for food and to give his paw in just one day), very, very energetic, and starts barking at us several times a day to play with him. He’s very stubborn, loves nibbling on us (and sometimes it hurts), loves other dogs and starts crying when he sees them, and loves catching balls. He’s a very good boy, but very stubborn. We’re not having a great time setting boundaries with him, but he’s learning (he has destroyed a total of 30 pairs of underwear, both mine and my wife’s).
He’s weighting 10kg atm.
So, what do you think? Could he be one?

Gulf 1 year and 8 months I adopted this hyperactive little ball of fluff four months ago. I have a great time with him, but I can't seem to get him to tire himself out. On walks, he's always sniffing around really fast, like he never relaxes on the street. Is this normal? I think it's because he's young and has a lot of energy. The trainer who's guiding us says his walks are good even though he's like this. I hired the trainer because he's reactive to dogs and motorcycles, and we're making good progress in that area, although with purebred dogs like him, things always end badly... For those of you who have had Jack Russells, could you share your experiences?

My husband died in July 2025. We had shared a life for thirty-two years. After he was gone, the house didn’t just feel empty—it felt hollow, like the walls themselves were holding their breath.
My son told me I needed something to take care of. I told him I was managing.
I wasn’t.
On a quiet Sunday—January 18th, 2026—I drove to the local shelter. I didn’t go there looking for a dog. I just couldn’t bear another afternoon sitting alone in that stillness.
A volunteer stopped me near the kennels for senior dogs. She said gently, ā€œThese two have been here almost six months. Their fee is waived now, but no one’s interested.ā€
Arthur He was eight and walked like every step had to be negotiated with time itself.
Rowan was tan with a dark patch over one eye. He couldn’t hear. He was also eight.
They were brothers.
Their person had surrendered them after falling gravely ill at 81. They’d never been apart. They’d waited—quietly—together.
I asked why no one wanted them.
She didn’t sugarcoat it. ā€œThey’re older. Medical needs. And they have to go as a pair. Most people want young dogs.ā€
I watched Arthur lower himself slowly onto a blanket. Rowan followed immediately, pressing his head into his brother’s shoulder like it was the most natural thing in the world. No signals. No sound. Just trust.
It felt achingly familiar.
I asked, ā€œWhat’s the adoption fee?ā€
She smiled sadly. ā€œThere isn’t one. No one’s taken them.ā€
I said, ā€œI will.ā€
She looked up. ā€œBoth of them?ā€
ā€œYes,ā€ I said. ā€œI won’t split up two old souls who’ve already lost their person.ā€
That was a week ago.
Now Arthur sleeps on my husband’s side of the bed. Rowan sleeps on mine.
The house isn’t silent anymore. It’s filled with slow footsteps, soft breaths, and two steady presences waiting for me at the door.
They lost the one who loved them.
I lost the one who loved me.
Somehow, in all that loss, we found our way home together.

Huge shoutout to whoever recommended this!! My dog owes u one šŸ˜‚

My boy usually treats plush toys like an absolute joke. Hes either ripping them apart in 5 mins or turning them into a gross, soggy mess that nobody wants to touch. I litterally thought no tug toy would ever survive him.

But I decided to try this angry little blue octopus anyways and omg I’m so glad I did.
A month later and its STILL in one piece after intense daily tug of war. The crazy part is that the inside actually stays dry?? No more nasty wet sponge feeling after he chews on it. That alone is a massive win tbh šŸ™Œ

He absolutely loves the crinkly legs and squeaker, it keeps him entertained way longer than his other stuff. Its also been awesome for the kids bc the long legs make it super easy for them to play tug with him safely.

This toy didnt just survive, it made playtime cleaner and way funner for all of us. Absolute game changer! šŸ™šŸ¶

This is Sir!
I adopted this crazy bean one month ago to keep my older BostonTerrier company. The shelter thought he might be a JRT mix. I do, too. His name is SIR and he'll be the 2nd JRT I've owned. Apparently, I'm a glutton for "terrors" and punishment. šŸ˜šŸ˜‚

Last week, my husband and I visited a shelter with open hearts, hoping to bring home a Jack Russell puppy who needed love and safety. We were ready to change one little life.
When we arrived, we met two tiny Jack Russell babies. They had lost their mother in a tragic accident, and the depth in their bright, intelligent eyes said more than words ever could. šŸ’”
At first, we thought we would bring home just one—a sweet little girl with a quick tail-wag and a curious spirit. We spent time with them, watching their sharp little ears twitch at every sound, and we tried to make a decision with our heads.
But our hearts had other plans.
While we were completing the paperwork, we noticed them tucked into a tight, protective ball. Their small, wire-haired bodies were pressed so close they seemed to breathe as one, seeking a rare moment of stillness and familiarity in a world that had already taken so much from them. 😢
It felt like they knew.
Like they understood change was coming.
Like they were guarding the only teammate they had left—each other.
In that moment, everything became clear. These two little souls had already experienced loss. We couldn’t be the reason they experienced another separation. Without even needing to say it out loud, my husband and I looked at each other and knew—they were meant to stay side by side. šŸ¤šŸ¶šŸ¶
This photo was taken on the drive home. They fell asleep in my lap, two tiny dynamos finally at rest, wrapped around one another, finally peaceful. Safe. Protected. Still together. šŸ„¹ā¤ļø
Bringing two puppies into our lives wasn’t what we originally planned. But sometimes the most beautiful decisions are the ones your heart makes before your mind can catch up.
Their bond is something special. The way they rest their chins on each other’s shoulders. The way they find comfort in the familiar scent of a sibling’s scruff. They don’t just share space—they share a connection that survived heartbreak.
Now, their story begins again.
A new chapter filled with warmth, endless play, security, and unconditional love. 🐾✨
We promise to protect their fiery little spirits.
To guard their trust.
To make sure they never feel alone again.
This is the beginning of something beautiful—for them, and for us. ā¤ļø

I MAY (famous last words) have found a squeaky toy that can survive a JRT….
Disclaimer: ā€œsurvive a JRTā€ means that it has lasted for 24 hours with the squeak intact and not shredded. They have cleverly placed the squeak in a ā€œreinforcedā€ area and she can’t bite it to oblivion! šŸ˜‚
