After days of ball theft, squirrel encounters, and Legend climbing into flower boxes like a backyard action hero…
Duck finally decided it was time for peace.

This morning he slipped into the pond and swam slowly among the koi — no drama, no attitude, no villain arc.
Just quiet.

The koi ignored him completely, gliding past like elegant little water ghosts who have seen too much of Duck’s nonsense to react anymore.
Duck didn’t mind.
He floated, paddled, and let the calm water settle around him.

Jordi, soaked and exhausted, looked at Duck like:

Duck puffed up.
Duck paced.
Duck tried to act like he wasn’t scared, just “observing.”
But everyone knew — this was Duck’s first real encounter with backyard wildlife that wasn’t koi or Legend.

🦆 THE DUCK SAGA — Episode 14: The Ball Take‑Back
Duck discovered a mysterious floating object in the pond today.
He circled it slowly… cautiously… dramatically… like a tiny detective who has never seen a ball before in his life.

He poked it.
He stared at it.
He swam around it in confused little loops, wondering if it was food, danger, or a new god.

Meanwhile, Legend stood on the ledge watching this unfold — getting more annoyed by the minute.

Duck: “What is this?”
Legend: “It’s the ball you stole.”

Finally, after Duck refused to surrender the ball AND refused to stop circling it like a confused shark, Legend climbed out onto the flower box — the sacred battleground — to retrieve the ball from both the pond and the duck.

Duck glared.
Legend retrieved.
Jordi supervised, soaking wet and emotionally exhausted.

Balance was restored.
Legend won the day.
Duck kept the attitude.

🦆 THE DUCK SAGA — Episode 13: Snack Negotiations

Duck has discovered the greatest perk of being a teenage land duck:

He can walk up to the edge of the pond and demand snacks.

Today he swam over, popped his head up, and stared at Jordi like,
“Drop the pellets.
Do it.
I’m here now.”

Jordi, who is still acting as Head of Pond Security, inspected the snack pile first — because apparently he’s quality control — and then allowed Duck to approach.

Duck stretched his neck out like a dramatic teenager who thinks he’s starving, grabbed his pellets, and then immediately went back to the water like he had completed a very important business transaction.

He is no longer a helpless baby.
He is a teenage duck with snack privileges.

The saga enters its negotiation phase.

Duck has entered full teenage mode, and today he learned something dangerous:

come out of the pond.

And now he won’t stop.

He strutted out like a lanky, wet, overconfident adolescent who just discovered freedom for the first time.
Neck longer.
Legs longer.
Attitude MUCH longer.

He stood there on the concrete like,
“I am no longer confined to the water. I walk among you now.”

Jordi watched him like a concerned parent.
The koi watched him like, “Oh no, he’s mobile.”
And Duck?
He just kept exploring, testing boundaries, and pretending he’s not still slightly damp and ridiculous.

Teenage Duck has arrived.
The saga enters its feral phase.
