First the good news…. I am recovering and eating. Getting lots of snuggles at home which makes me happy. Now for the not so good news: The doctor got the biopsy results and the mass removed from under my tongue was squamous cell carcinoma. She got clean margins but said it’s likely to grow back within a few months. Because of my history of abuse before my family adopted me, I panic and hide making it virtually impossible for anyone to catch me to give me medication let alone multiple trips to the vet for cancer treatment and at my age (15.5 years) along with my fear of going into a carrier or being handled (other than being pet or napping on a lap), I’m not going to be able to undergo further treatment. Mom says it would ruin our relationship because I don’t understand she’s just trying to help and it would make my remaining days full of fight or flight and anxiety. So I agree with my family’s decision to let me recover and spoil me until my quality of life isn’t good anymore.
Please don’t be sad for me. For however long I have left, I’ll be living my bestest life. My family has shown me what true love is over the 12 years they’ve had me and for a kitty with Radial Hypoplasia, I’ve lived without complications much longer than anyone expected.
Once I’m recovered and my lil mouth doesn’t look sad and scabbed Mom will post lots of posts until that day comes. And when it does, my whole family will be with me making sure I feel all their presence and love as they release me from any pain and suffering.
So for now, Mom will share lots of good memories from the past like the picture here with my sister Venus the Two Face Cat and new memories to come.
I love you all! Thank you very much for all the thoughts, purrayers, and well wishes! 😽💙
