Lesson horses work hard… so naturally, nap time is a serious part of the schedule. 😴🐴

Rocky and Oreo were resting in their stalls today, proving that being adorable is exhausting work. One thing about lesson horses: they know how to earn a good nap after taking care of their riders. 💛

What a fun day at the SVDA Dressage Show! 🐴✨ We’re so proud of our two riders for all of their hard work, great rides, and positive attitudes throughout the day. Horse shows are about so much more than ribbons — they’re about learning, growing, supporting each other, and making memories along the way.

And of course… no horse show day is complete without the end-of-day exhaustion snack run 😂 Nothing says “successful show day” quite like digging through a box of Lay’s chips before the drive home!

Great rides, lots of laughs, and plenty of memories made today 💛

Some of the best moments at the barn aren’t in the saddle, they’re in the quiet walks back to the barn, the little conversations, and the partnerships built one ride at a time. 🤍🐴☀️

These are the moments our riders will remember long after the lesson ends. RidingLessons

First horse show of the season ✔️🐴✨

We are so proud of our riders for stepping into the ring, trying new things, supporting each other, and representing SunFire Equestrian so well this Saturday. Horse shows are about so much more than ribbons — they’re about building confidence, learning, growing, and celebrating the partnership between horse and rider.

From early mornings to happy smiles at the end of the day, this show was the perfect way to kick off our season. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds for these amazing riders 💛

Days like yesterday remind us just how thankful we are for our beautiful indoor arena 🌧️🐴

While the rain poured outside, we were still able to safely ride, teach, and spend time doing what we love with our horses and students. Our evening lesson girls had a blast playing musical horses! Having a space that allows our lessons to continue regardless of the weather is something we never take for granted.

Rainy barn days may be a little gray outside, but they still bring plenty of smiles, learning, and cozy moments inside ✨

There’s something special about the moment it all clicks ✨

Dahlia coaching from the ground, Jupiter giving her all, and our student learning to trust the rhythm, the distance, and themselves. This is what progress looks like—not just clearing the jump, but building confidence, communication, and partnership every stride of the way.

Every ride is a step forward, and we’re so proud to be part of the journey 💛

🐎 New on the blog: The Psychology of Prey Animals: Seeing the World Like a Horse

To truly connect with our horses, we have to understand more than aids and anatomy—we have to understand how they think. Horses are prey animals, and their instincts shape everything from spooks and hesitation to how they find comfort in a calm, confident handler.

In this post, we explore:
• Why horses choose flight over fight
• How their heightened senses affect behavior under saddle
• The importance of leadership, calm energy, and trust

When we stop asking “Why is my horse being difficult?” and start asking “What is my horse experiencing?” everything changes.
📖 Read the full blog on our website and let us know—what’s something your horse notices that you never would have? 💭🐎
