Hello Stubbies and Tails families!! You all know I wish I could do this biz for free but Jerry needs fishing money. All jokes aside I have had to raise the rate for Boarding for an additional pup. If you have a stay already booked and received confirmation that estimate stands. However, future bookings will have the new rate. You are still receiving an excellent discount for your additional pups along with the phenomenal care they receive. Unfortunately this beautiful bird had a very severe shoulder injury and did not make it. I am thankful that I came upon it so its suffering and pain was minimal. Definitely not the news we wanted to receive. The volunteers were so hopeful and are utterly heartbroken which unfortunately is an all too frequent thing in the rescue community. I am going to appreciate the hawk and eagle sightings even more. Majestic creatures

Today was an exciting day and so glad I was at the right place at the right time. I arrived at one of our fellow pet owner’s home and came across an injured juvenile red tailed hawk. With the help of a neighbor and my hubby we were able to keep it near until help arrived. Thank you Officer Gallop with the Suffolk Animal Control and local volunteers with Eastern Virginia Wildlife Refuge. I just received an update that the gawk is doing well. They are keeping it comfortable and hydrated. There doesn’t appear to be any broken bones and overall good health but not able to fly. They are thinking it is an injury to the collarbone or shoulder (pray it is the collarbone) will be taking it to the Wildlife Center of Virginia for more tests. These volunteers end up typically paying out of pocket for the expenses and could use your help.
