“Charlie” 4-week Adult Obedience🐾🦮

Proven again that old dogs can learn new tricks! This 8 year old needed help adjusting to the apartment life. From calmly walking down hallways, going in and out of elevators, to being on an E-collar and accessing the off leash life when the owner has time. This pup is full of life and personality and very easy to please just give him a good sniff spot lol this transition for the owner and dog will now be a breeze!

“Inca” 4-week Reactivity & Anxiety Rehab🐾🙌

Inca was enrolled for dog reactivity and unpredictably around other stressors. Day-to-day tasks were difficult as Inca became better and better at her “selective hearing”. She came with a-lot of emotion, motivation to learn and energy that would tire anyone out.

We had a lot of small wins with her that carried the momentum through training. From getting over her fear of water and sharing toys to daily interactions with other dog’s, she started to see life in a different light. She overcame a-lot during her program, now it’s time for her to get right back into the mix of life while letting everyone take a deep breath.

“Angel” was a 9 month old rescue case enrolled in our Behavior Modification program. The new owners struggled with simple tasks but more importantly getting this girl to engage, open up and be a dog. Whatever she experienced prior to her new home weighed heavy on this young pup, not a mean bone in her body. Only superstitions, irrational fears towards life and a complete breakdown in trust towards humans.

We saw all of their concerns early on, taking her almost an entire week to begin engaging with us. Throughout that first week we were in the background trying to build something we could create our relationship around. Eventually a switch flipped and we were finally able to give her something to look forward to, play.

No flashy obedience, the big difference was now we saw a dog that felt good about herself again. By building the relationship around that we could then use it to nudge her jusssst enough in the right direction. Any input given felt like a massive undertaking from her perspective, to the point where she would freeze in place or become submissive.

We both knew from the start that it would be a huge commitment for the owner. Today we got to see the dedication to making this dog as comfortable as possible. While also being able to give guidance and receive compliance built around trust and a good relationship. We’ll be here for ongoing help with regular check-ins and meet ups to make sure the transition back home goes smoothly.

“Willow” is a Puppy University Graduate from last year, now all grown up and enrolled in her Adult Obedience and Off-Leash Program🦮🐾

There’s some new unwanted behaviors to work through and a lot more gas in the tank but we’re picking up right where we left off. Looking forward to these next few weeks!

OBX never disappoints🍩

Charlie’s 8 years old and finally enjoying some freedom while also being compliant for the first time in his life, this guy is just happy to finally be apart of the adventure🐾

Inca (GSD mix) is 5 years old and in the same boat with a-lot of behavioral issues. Today she squashed her beef/fear with the water, just had to experience it differently 🤿

Both are halfway through their programs and are doing great. Looking forward to the last half and more trips to places like this.

Hazel’s back on the beach right where she belongs, relaxing and hanging out after completing her program⛱️☀️

One of the sweetest pups you’d ever meet, just knew how to use her size and persistency to always get what she wanted. Her recalls were spotty and if there was a person, dogs or anything remotely interesting, she was gone running or pulling.

Hazel went back to her owners with clarity on what she can and can’t do anymore, whether she’s on-leash or more importantly off-leash, regardless of what’s going on around her. As for the owners, they picked up right where they left off at the start of training, now with proper reinforcement and how to keep their relationship motivating, valuable, and healthy.
