Don't forget that our Adoption Center is open late tonight! We'll be here from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to give you more time to fit a visit into your busy day.

Meet two-year-old Dottie and Ginger. Not only are these darling girls sisters, they're also friends. If you've been looking to adopt two pups who have a known history of getting along, we'd love for you to come in and meet them today!

While they certainly enjoy each other's company, they're not a bonded pair and can be adopted separately, too.

THIS THURSDAY ONLY: Pick Your Price on Certified Pre-Owned (Adult) Pups! 😍

Thursday, October 22, is National Make a Dog’s Day, and we’ll be celebrating by helping as many dogs as possible begin their next great adventure. Inspired by our dear friends at McGovern Subaru and their initiative, we’re making it our mission to help you find your new co-pilot!

So, who are our Certified Pre-Owned Pups? Before you start wondering about mileage and maintenance records, we want to be clear: these aren’t cars, they’re aspiring family members. We just gotta keep on theme, ya know? 😉 This promotion is designed specifically for any adoptable dog one year and older.

These dogs have tons of personality and a whole lot of love in the tank... but don't just take our word for it, come by and see for yourself! Who knows? Maybe you'll even drive home with a new best friend. 🧡

Three of our favorite adoptable pups are heading to PetSmart in Newington, NH to look for their forever homes:

Within the first week of adopting Chip, I brought him for a walk on a trail near our home.

Chip was a very anxious and shut down puppy who wanted no part of whatever adventures I had in mind. This particular trail has a small watering hole that we decided to use as our turn-around point. It was a hot summer day, so I was hoping he would go cool off for a moment, but I was assuming he would be too nervous to be interested.

When he reached the water, instead of turning back or panicking, Chip’s face lit up. It was as if he dropped all of his worries in the dirt and just dived right in, splashing around, feeling the coolness of the water wash over him, and grabbing any stick that floated his way.

It was hilarious and heartwarming. He was being a puppy, he was having fun, and for a while, that was the only trail he wanted to go walking on. It became part of our routine. We’d walk to the water hole and back. Over time, I slowly introduced new places to walk. At first he wasn’t impressed to switch it up, but over time his confidence grew and he now has more favorite places to explore.

There are so many things I could share about Chip. He’s the bestest boy and he’s very loved.

Chip’s second chance is just one example of the magic our community's support makes possible! Through the initiative, our dear friends at McGovern Subaru are helping provide direct funding (through an ASPCA-administered grant) to cover essential costs, veterinary care, and more for animals in our care. This month-long initiative is just one of the many ways Subaru of America, Inc. shows up for the NHSPCA and the animals who need us. We’re so grateful for everything they do to help animals like Chip find their way to brighter beginnings.

Mention Balto’s name around here and you’re sure to be met with some variation of “I can’t believe he’s still here!” This 7-year-old, 44-pound boy is what we consider a dreamboat: the kind of dog that doesn’t usually spend much time on our adoption floor because he checks off so many boxes:

✅ House-trained and knows basic commands
✅ Experienced with dogs, cats, and children
✅ Rides beautifully in the car (crated)
✅ Comfortable being left home alone
✅ 80% snooze/20% adventure
✅ A great option for first-time or experienced dog owners alike

Balto has surgery tentatively scheduled for November 11 to repair a CCL injury in his right hind leg. We’d love nothing more than for him to prepare for and recover from this surgery in the comfort of a home with a family that wants to adopt him once he’s ready.

Could that family be yours? If you’ve been hoping to find a friendly, mellow companion, Balto might be just the guy! 😍 We plan to send him home as a foster until he has been medically cleared (estimating about two weeks post-op). This allows our team to perform the surgery at no cost to his new family.

Over the next few days, Balto won't be found in our Dog Pavilion. Instead, he will be snuggled up on a couch with his current foster family. 🥰 If you think he should have a permanent spot on your couch, our team would really love to talk with you! We'd be happy to answer any questions about him and his upcoming surgery, go over all his medical records, and set up a meet-and-greet. To get the ball rolling, you can either stop by during our open hours, email [email protected] or call (603) 772-2921 ext. 110.

Balto is ready to be your favorite part of coming home. Will you let him? ♥️
