4 Year Old Female Available
Storm is a beautiful 4 year old spayed female Doberman with a heart of gold, high drive and willingness to please. She embodies the true meaning of a โVelcro dogโ, she wants nothing more than to be with her people and be part of the pack. If youโre looking for a loyal companion who will happily follow you from room to room and be involved in everything you do, Storm may be the perfect fit.
Storm is highly trained and has an excellent foundation in obedience. She is e-collar trained, has outstanding recall, and recalls reliably to tone alone. She knows numerous commands including Place, Down, Stay, Middle, With Me, Leave It, Drop, and Recall to Tone. She is responsive, intelligent, and loves having a job to do.
Storm thrives on engagement, training, and activity. She loves tug, frisbee, fetch, and any game that involves interacting with her people. She has a solid โOutโ (Aus!) command during tug sessions and is always eager to learn and work. One of her favorite games is keep-away - sheโll drop a toy and then pounce back on it to encourage you to keep playing.
Because of her high drive and enthusiasm, Storm is best suited for an experienced Doberman owner or someone with extensive experience handling high-drive working breeds. She is not recommended for homes with small children. Storm plays hard, can come in hot, and sometimes struggles to self-regulate when sheโs having fun. She loves kids and has been around babies and tiny ones so itโs mainly just a precaution as she can be a bit of a bull in a china shop around little ones. Older children would be just fine. She will happily play all day if given the opportunity and occasionally needs guidance to settle and relax.
Storm is happiest when provided with structure, consistency, exercise, and clear expectations. She wants to be involved in everything her family does and is not the type of dog who enjoys being left out of the action. She truly wants to be your constant companion.
Storm is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and otherwise healthy. She does have mild spay incontinence, which is well-controlled with a once-daily Proin medication. This has been easy to manage and has not affected her quality of life.
She previously lived with a cat and has never shown aggression toward cats. She is curious and sometimes gets a little too involved in their business, so any feline housemates should be comfortable with an inquisitive dog who likes to investigate everything around her. She also does great with other dogs.
We are committed to finding Storm a home that understands and appreciates what makes Dobermans so special. The ideal home will provide the leadership, activity, and companionship she deserves. In return, Storm will give unwavering loyalty, endless enthusiasm, and a level of companionship that only a Doberman can provide.
If you believe you may be a good fit for Storm, please reach out and tell us about your experience with Dobermans or other high-drive breeds, your household, and the type of lifestyle you can offer. Our priority is finding Storm the right forever home where she can thrive.
