Spike in Bites: Federal data shows that weekly emergency room visits for tick bites in the Northeast hit a 10-year high.

High Disease Prevalence: Massachusetts remains a national hotspot for Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections like Babesiosis and Anaplasmosis.

Emerging Threats: The Lone Star tick (known for causing Alpha-gal Syndrome, an allergy to red meat) continues to expand its territory, particularly on Cape Cod and the Islands, but is being spotted further inland.
