We are wrapping up after a very long weekend at Illinois trackers haven put on by the Illinois Deer Tracker’s Network. Back in January we made a trip to run a ubt1 with Bonnie in Missouri. This is a test line test that the united blood trackers offers that tests if your dog has it! That is the white ribbon. She was 7 months old and a ubt1 consists of a 400 to 500 yard track that is aged for 3 to 4 hours and 2 turns, with hooves and a small amount of blood, she ran it in 8 minutes! So we been putting in some work for our event to try our luck at a ubt2 at just 13 months old. A ubt2 consists of a 800 to 900 yard line aged at 8 to 12 hours with 3 90° turns and 2 wound beds, with hooves, and a small amount of blood. This test is designed to test you as a handler and your dogs ability. We started her and completed it in 38 minutes! With 0 call backs and never even leaving the line she was dialed it. Bonnie amazes me every time I put a harness on her she never gets in a hurry and uses her brain the entire time, I haven't witnessed very many dogs on a track as true as her. Im super excited to see what her capabilities are this fall. Anyways we had an absolute amazing event and ran flawlessly and so smooth! Amazing cooking, great trackers from all around the united states spreading knowledge at every training station. Oh and not to mention spending a weekend with my wife and amazing friends. Now its time to pack up and head home and start some new training methods before season.
