It’s auction day!

When we pulled in to Mt Hope Auction, one of the awesome crew members here said to Dalton, “hey! I know you - you’re the Bible & the Barn, right?! How’s it going?!”

Starting the day off with a huge smile, because how cool that people hours away are asking about our ministry.

God’s reach is infinite, we’re just a small part working for Him ✝️❤️🤠

Here’s what I want you to know about this video:

I am just overwhelmed with thankfulness to God.

I am thankful that Salina Stoltzfus was placed in my life. I could go on and on about how great I think she is just in the few weeks I’ve known her. I’m thankful for her willingness to participate at the barn. I’m thankful for her experience that she be able to work with the Clydesdales as a team and that she was willing to work with me also. I am beyond thankful for her calm, confident demeanor. I’m so grateful that she is encouraging to the kids too. Goodness how blessed I feel to have her walk into the barn!!!

I cannot even begin to express how thankful I am for my kids, both my offspring and all those who I am blessed to be a part of their lives. I think many core memories can come from adventures on the horses.

The horses - wow - God had a big plan for these ponies and I am loving watching it unfold.

I’m thankful for this little trail loop, that even during hunting seasons, we can be safe to ride our little loop, or enjoy the dirt roads, in a peaceful neighborhood.

I’m thankful to spend time with the best cowboys, who aren’t really cow BOYS at all.

And that’s not even going down to small details, these are just big picture thankfulness!

GOD IS SO GOOD!!!

I have a confession.
This is Tori typing - not pictured.

Today we were scheduled to take out the MINI ICE CREAM TRUCK. With the cooler temperatures, we decided we would take cupcakes, so maybe it should be called the MINI SWEET TREATS WAGON, but the name is beside the point.

I get excited just thinking about the MINI ICE CREAM TRUCK. My husband and great friend Monica turned this old pony wagon into a beautiful treat wagon. It has been an amazing fundraiser for the Bible & the Barn, because more so than the funds raised, we get to see the Holy Spirit at work. The people running over for a treat, the excitement people get when giving Benelli a treat, the group of volunteers working together bringing smiles to everyone - and the whole experience bringing smiles to us, it’s obvious to me that God is for this, because He has made this old wagon ice cream truck fundraiser idea better than I could have ever done!!

Here comes the confession:

I wasn’t feeling it today. I just wanted to take a nap, rather than load up and go. When I got there, I told Kim (pictured) that I wanted her to go up front (we keep an experienced person near the pony’s head to assist people with petting and treat giving) she said “you’re better at that, I’ll take the p**p bucket,” but I declined.
I told one of the girls I needed to take the p**p bucket because my mood was p**py. Turns out that was the best thing.

I watched the Holy Spirit RADIATE through Kim. The brightness in her face, the way she handled conversations and her kindness to everyone - she was a walking example of “let Jesus be seen in you”
*yes- I cried typing this*
The girls did awesome manning the wagon and sharing about how they love the Bible & the Barn. Emma was jumping on and off trying to help with every job. Ava had the Holy Spirit flowing through her, with all the positive energy surrounding her. Monica and Lily showed up later and brought even more goodness along!

So maybe the poor mood I was in was the Devil tugging at me, trying to stop the spread of the Goodness of God, but my God is BIGGER and instead of the Devil stopping us from sharing the goodness at Vactionland, the Holy Spirit SUPER CHARGED the MINI ICE CREAM TRUCK and God took it farther and reminds me I need to share something even more here:

Sweet treats are great, but having sisters in Christ around you is the sweetest! We all have bad days, poor moods, ect, but when we have a family we can say to “no I don’t think I should do that today because my mood isn’t right” so they step up and TOTALLY SHINE, that’s one of the sweetest gifts God has given us as His children.
We all work TOGETHER for HIS GLORY!

This post came up in my Facebook memories today… I added the purple words.

It’s amazing how when you give yourself to Jesus it doesn’t even matter what measures say you’re doing well in life - knowing God as your Father, that Jesus died for your sins, and that the Holy Spirit is available to you means you are good for ETERNITY!

When you’re living your life striving for a closer relationship to God, the goodness all around you is evident!

It’s getting dark earlier now, but the sky was just absolutely beautiful for youth fellowship on Thursday!

As the season changes, it brings to mind Ecclesiastes 3
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace

Whatever season you are going through right now, place all your faith in God our Father, Jesus Christ our Savior and allow the Holy Spirit to take the reins and guide you through it.

Here’s a testimony:

God has blessed us with BEAUTIFUL Clydesdales, with the sweetest souls, I originally intended on having ONE, but then quickly there were FOUR. This summer we laid two sweet souls to rest, no longer having to deal with bodies failing them and now enjoying all the green pastures with Jesus, as they deserve.
With Junebug 🐛 and Lexi 💎 here, I had be contemplating looking for a match for one of them, because they are at least one hand different in size, but I haven’t had luck on that, so I started having conversations with Dalton about hooking the two of them together even with their physical differences, and he agreed.

*for the record - he said “if you want a matched pair, I think you should get one to match Lexi 💎 and keep Bug 🐛 driving single, but trying them together seems like a good option so we don’t have to get another horse” (so if Lexi’s perfect match is out there looking for a loved-by-many kind of life, send him/her my way 😂)

Back to the testimony! After the decision was made to hook them together, I started to contemplate WHO would make that happen. I can drive single all day long, but a team? Not YET. Do we stop by our Amish friend’s house and see if he needs a team for a day (they both drove in a team before, just never together) or do we call up our best man and his wife (they are busy and not close by) or do we call a new Amish trainer we learned about? We discussed this for days, starting on a Monday.

God had a plan, we didn’t have to figure it out!

On Thursday, I received a Facebook message from someone who had been following the Bible & the Barn and wanted to find out about participating. Turns out she works at Cup of Hope Cafe & Bakery, so after I immediately said “absolutely you’re welcome to be a part of the Bible & the Barn” I said “do you think we could chat a few minutes tomorrow when I bring my daughter in for her pink boba?”

Fast forward to Friday, Emma was one happy girl with a pink boba and I was able to chat with her for a couple minutes (thank you Saloma Fisher!!!) During this conversation I asked if she had any driving experience, because for the last week that’s been my question for everyone 😂 and she said “well quite a bit, the most I’ve ever driven is 6 at a time” SIX AT A TIME!!! I’m certain at this point my face was NOT hiding my excitement, as I explained about Bug and Lex and asked if that was something she would be willing to take on…

With equal excitement she said, “oh ABSOLUTELY I WOULD LOVE TO DO THAT!”

What started as one Facebook message, led to a conversation, turned in to BIG things for the Bible & the Barn and even more so, I think a beautiful friendship is forming! That’s something I couldn’t have made happen on my own, this story unfolding is all by the GOODNESS OF GOD!

I’m praying thankfulness for Salina Stoltzfus being placed in my life and for many many blessings over her❤️
