Hard Luck Animal Welfare Advocates have launched Pup Crawl Bingo, and we couldn't be more excited! 🎊🐾 From June 1 through July 4, visit participating local businesses, collect stamps on your bingo card, and enter for a chance to win an incredible gift basket filled with goodies from participating businesses. 🎁✨

This is a great opportunity to get out, discover some amazing local spots, support local businesses 🍕🍷🍺, and help the animals of Stockton Animal Services at the same time. The Stockton Animal Shelter, with the help of our testing partners, has found a case of Streptococcus Zooepidemicus, also known as “Strep Zoo” within the shelter population.

As a result, the Stockton Animal Shelter is taking immediate action to ensure the safety of our animal population at the Shelter and in the community. All stray intake and adoptions will be temporarily halted for the next 14 days, 05/21/2026 through 06/04/2026. The Animal Shelter will reopen for normal business hours 06/05/2026. During this time, we will also be doing a full, thorough disinfecting of the facility to prevent any further spread.

If you find a stray animal during the closure, here’s how you can help:
• Post flyers in your neighborhood.
• Share the found pet on social media and community pages.
• Contact Stockton Animal Services at 209-937-7445 to schedule an appointment to bring the animal in after the quarantine period ends.

Our top priority is the health and safety of the animals in our care and our community. Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.

✨ What an AMAZING weekend for pets in Stockton! 🐾❤️

This past weekend, Stockton Animal Shelter, Animal Balance, and Hard Luck Animal Welfare Advocates came together to host another incredibly successful high volume spay and neuter clinic and the impact was huge!

🎉 224 community owned animals were spayed or neutered in just ONE weekend!

These clinics are so much more than surgeries. They help keep pets healthy, reduce pet overpopulation, support responsible pet ownership, and provide access to veterinary care for families who may not otherwise be able to afford it. 🏡🐶🐱

Seeing the gratitude from pet owners throughout the weekend was truly incredible. So many community members shared how thankful they were for this resource and how much it means to their families. ❤️

🐾 Spay and Neuter Clinic Sign Ups Begin TODAY May 20th
Stockton Animal Services is partnering with Animal Balance to offer FREE spay and neuter surgeries for qualifying dogs and cats 🐶🐱
Spaying and neutering helps pets live healthier lives, prevents unwanted litters, and plays a critical role in reducing the number of animals entering our shelter. This clinic is part of our ongoing effort to provide accessible resources that support responsible pet ownership in our community.
⚠️ By appointment only. Limited spots available and they will fill quickly.
How to sign up:

• Pet's weight
• Male or female
Emails will be responded to in the order they are received.
