"But my cat never goes outside..."

We hear this all the time! While indoor cats are generally protected from many outdoor dangers, they still need regular veterinary checkups to stay healthy and live their best lives.

Why? Because these illnesses don't care where your cat has been:
Dental disease (one of the most common health problems we see), kidney disease, diabetes, arthritis and mobility issues, heart disease, weight-related health concerns, thyroid disorders, cancer and more.

Cats are masters at hiding pain and illness. By the time they're showing obvious signs that something is wrong, a condition may already be advanced.

Regular wellness exams allow us to detect problems early, monitor weight and nutrition, keep vaccines current based on lifestyle and risk, discuss behavior concerns and ensure your cat stays comfortable as they age.

Remember, a cat doesn't have to go outdoors to get sick. Preventive care helps us catch issues sooner, often making treatment easier, more effective, and less costly.

See all those red little 'pimples'? They weren't initially visible from under the fur but when Dr. Patel walked into the exam room, she instantly exclaimed, "Furunculosis!"
Furuncu-what?
The team shaved the patient's fur and sure enough, these red angry spots became very obvious. Furunculosis is a bacteria that thrives in wet environments and is commonly found on grooming/bathing tools such as shampoo bottles, sponges, brushes, clippers, etc. It's fast-growing and presents itself as a red bumpy irritation on the neck/back area. If your dog was recently groomed or bathed and starts to show signs of skin discomfort or lethargy within a few days, give us a call for easy treatment.

This month we celebrate 9 incredible years of caring for the pets in our community and as we look back on this milestone, we wanted to share a few photos from the early days when Stockton Veterinary Hospital was still under construction and our dream was taking shape. These images remind us just how far we've come.

What began as a vision many years ago, a lot of hard work has grown into a thriving hospital filled with compassionate care, lifelong friendships, countless wagging tails, happy purrs and a team that truly loves what they do.

To our clients, patients, staff, family, friends and supporters: thank you for trusting us, believing in us and being part of this journey. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and its beloved pets.

❤️ Thank you for an amazing 9 years.
