🌟 Contessa – 2-Year-Old Registered Filly Available 🌟
Contessa, proudly bred at Carisbrooke Farm, is a stunning young Friesian filly with the pedigree, temperament, and foundation to excel in a variety of disciplines. With her sweet personality, willing attitude, and solid groundwork, she has all the makings of a beautiful dressage prospect—or can be developed in whatever direction you choose.
She is incredibly low maintenance and an easy keeper, making her a pleasure to have in the barn. She is barefoot, good with her feet, stands tied, loves baths, loads right into the trailer, and absolutely thrives on attention. She’s often the first one to meet you at the gate and is always eager to interact with people.
Contessa has a solid foundation and all the tools in place to prepare her for her next steps. She moves willingly off pressure, responds exceptionally well to vocal cues, and is constantly looking to please. Her intelligent, trainable mind and calm, confident approach make her an outstanding candidate for continued development in dressage, driving, breeding, or as a refined all-around partner.
Contessa is the daughter of Draco of Carisbrooke, a purebred Friesian stallion registered with Friesian Heritage Horse International. Draco traces back to the FPZV-approved stallion Pegasus, renowned for his incredible mane and classic Friesian presence. Draco consistently passes on the intelligence, gentle temperament, abundant hair, and original baroque type that Friesian enthusiasts seek. His dam, Petra van’t Zuid, was imported from Holland, earned Star status in the United States, and excelled in both dressage and carriage driving.
On her dam’s side, Contessa is out of Valkery of Carisbrooke, a German FPZV High Merit registered purebred Friesian who is also co-registered with Friesian Heritage Horse International. Valkery’s dam, Carolein, is an FPZV Star mare, while her sire, Ljibbe’s Valour, was an exceptionally accomplished stallion, earning honors including 3x First Premie, Senior Stallion of the Year, and multiple World, National, and Regional Championships across disciplines. Valkery herself exemplifies the athleticism and forward-reaching movement valued in the German registry and was recognized as the 2010 FEIT National Inspection Champion.
For the buyer seeking a Friesian with substance, beauty, correct early handling, and a pedigree rich in proven performance and breed quality, Contessa represents a standout opportunity. She has the look, mind, and foundation to be developed into a competitive dressage prospect, elegant driving horse, valuable breeding candidate, or treasured lifetime partner.
