The jury is out on if showpigs or bucking bulls are worse about looking for ways to injure themselves!

We start the ground work with these bulls when they are young to get them used to the process, gain their trust, and calm them down. Most of what was done today was getting them used to being touched and the sounds of being adjusted. This set of yearlings is months out from any sort of competition or futurity, but taking them time to run them in today without doing a whole lot will allow us to be more efficient and safe (for the bulls and humans) in the future.

While some may think it’s a waste of time, gaining their trust at a young age also makes any future treatment or diagnostics easier and safer for all parties in the case of illness or injury.

While there isn’t a standardized protocol or “dose” for the use of PEMF with fracture healing, there is scientific evidence that it does help especially in the early stages of bone regeneration!

Your animal breaks its leg, I’m going to tell you to Magnawave it because I’ve seen the real world results.

Treat the animal to optimize results, not the numbers. So many get caught up on the data and research we forget to treat the patient and do our best to support the body to allow it to heal.

Update on 504

Dr. Genova texted and recommended MagnaWave therapy to help support his healing process.

Thankfully, we have a great friend who specializes in MagnaWave and has worked on our bulls many times. We gave her a call, and she came out this evening for 504’s first session.

He absolutely loved it. He stayed calm the entire time, completely relaxed… even drooling… That is a great sign that he was comfortable and enjoying it.

The plan is for 504 to receive MagnaWave treatments every other day for the next several weeks as we continue doing everything we can to help him heal.

We’re thankful for everyone who has reached out, and all the kind words. We’ll continue to keep you updated on his recovery.

504 is still not named but we’re working on that with our partners Allemand Livestock Co. they sent us a good one other night. So name to possibly be announced eventually.

Thank you to Crown D Cattle for the opportunity to work on 504 yesterday.

Everyone keep this calf in your prayers over the next couple months as this fracture heals and that he tolerates the cast.

One of our favorite yearling bulls, 504, injured himself yesterday, and we knew immediately something wasn’t right.

We made the decision to get him to Oklahoma as quickly as possible to see Dr. Genova, and we’re incredibly thankful we did. After examining him, she found that he had broken his leg right at the growth plate. Thankfully, she was able to get it casted, and she’s confident that with proper care, he’ll make a full recovery in about 8 weeks.

We can’t say enough great things about Dr. Genova. She was incredible to work with, and we’re so grateful for her expertise and the care she gave.

Keep 504 in your prayers as he begins the road to recovery. We’re looking forward to seeing him back better than ever.
