This show was sort of a last minute addition to the schedule, but the girls cleaned up nicely for being pulled from breeding and growout pens just this week!

It sure felt great to be back with the Silkie community! I met some new members, and caught up with old friends; right where we left off!🫶🏼

*Update on baby Mira*

It was an eventual start to the morning. I got a call that momma had rolled on top of Mira sometime between 4:30-5 am today. I’m grateful to my mother and her husband who have lambed out the ewes, and especially for stepdad who gave baby Mira rescue breathes this morning, after finding her unresponsive. I made a flying trip down to moms before class to pick her up, and she spent the rest of the day in my office which is surrounded by animal science professors🙏🏻🙌🏼, who have lent their expertise to see little Mira’s success.

She’s Weighing in at 4 lbs 5 oz, at 5 days old and will be raised as a bottle baby moving forward.
