Did you know that just like humans, our furry family members can develop diabetes? 🐾

Diabetes happens when a pet’s body can't properly turn food into energy. Normally, the body breaks food down into glucose (sugar), and a hormone called insulin helps move that sugar into cells to power them.
Without enough insulin, sugar builds up in the bloodstream instead, leaving cells starving for energy.

👀 Signs to watch out for:
Drinking a lot more water than usual.
Needing to p*e way more frequently (or accidents in the house/outside the litter box),
Always acting hungry, yet losing weight,
Lethargy or sleeping much more than usual

🏥 How Vets Diagnose It: Your vet will look at the whole picture! They will perform basic bloodwork and a urinalysis to check for abnormally high sugar levels in both the blood and the urine.

💊 Common Treatments: While it sounds scary, diabetes is very manageable! Vets typically treat it with daily insulin injections (the needles are tiny, promise!), a high-protein/low-carb specialized diet, and regular daily exercise to keep blood sugar stable.

Happy 5th Birthday to our handsome boy, Harley! 🥳🎂🎉

We had the absolute best time celebrating his milestone birthday here at Janry Pet Resort! Harley was spoiled rotten, and his little tail didn't stop wagging all day long. 🐾❤️

A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to all of Harley’s pup friends who attended the party and made his day so incredibly special. 🐕✨ He also wants to send a big thank you for all of his wonderful birthday presents—he can't wait to play with every single one! 🎁🦴
