is a GFAS (Global Federations of Animal Sanctuaries) verified equine rescue and sanctuary. Horses in our care receive rehabilitation for physical and emotional problems, and training as necessary to be able to transition into a new permanent home. Some of our horses are sanctuary horses, meaning they are not available for adoption for various reasons including age or health. These horses participa

te in Equine Assisted Programs including Life Skills, Equine Assisted Growth and Learning, youth and Veterans programs. Wings also administers the Crimes Against Livestock Reward fund that helps raise reward funds to encourage information leading to the arrest of those committing livestock criminal activity.

Our new rescues were vetted and trimmed today at Tammany Veterinary Hospital. Thanks so much to Dr. Tye Cooper, the Tammany staff, Debora Lay, who did the full trim on Maverick, and our farrier Derek McKay for their hard work today. The boys had dental, vaccinations and de-worming in addition to the hoof trims. Thanks to Terri Dennis and Tracy Fillbach for their help in transporting, and to everyone who has donated for their care.

Say hello to our new arrivals from Flathead County! They are settling in and will go to the vet in a few days for a full checkup and sedated trim with our farrier Derek McKay. Thank you to everyone who has already donated for their care. They are safe at Wings now.

It was a long trip for Wings boardmember Terri Dennis to go to Kalispell and back today but they are here! Palomino gelding mini, Maverick, black pony gelding Billy and Spotted mini donkey Jack (Stallion) Kenworth aka Kenny.

All are in pretty rough condition in addition to the long hooves. Debora cut Kenny's hooves half way off almost immediately so he can walk. They will all go to the vet on Wednesday for full assessment, dental floats and whatever else needs doing. There they will be sedated and Debora Lay and our farrier Derek McKay will trim the hooves as much as possible.

Thank you to everyone who has offered to help. We cannot send these horses to anyone at this time. They need to go thru the intake process here at the rescue, be vetted and assessed for possible adoption. They appear to be seniors. We will need to determine their suitablity for adoption in the future. For now you can help with their rehabilitation and care with a financial donation.

The donkey from the Corvallis case (we are calling her Miss Donkey) saw the vet today. Debora spent the weekend teaching her to load in the trailer for trip to vet. Got her dental float, vaccinations and deworming. She also got a basic trim. Debora will do a follow up hoof trim next week. Wait till you see what Debora Lay can do with those hooves!

We are working with Flathead Sheriff Dept on three horses in a criminal neglect case. We will pick them up on Friday in Kalispell. Funds are needed for both transportation expenses and their vet care, which will include dental floats, vaccinations, deworming and of course hoof care. We are glad the previous owner will never have horses again.
