Sixteen years is a long time in any business, but in pet care, it’s a whole lifetime.
Looking back over the years, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the clients who have made this journey possible. You’ve packed up with me as I moved to different locations, adjusted to new setups, and trusted me with your most precious family members every step of the way.
Even more special? Getting to watch full generations of dogs unfold. I’ve had the privilege of knowing your first pups from their wild puppy years all the way to their cozy senior days—and then having you trust me enough to bring back your next dog, and the one after that.
Being part of your pets’ lives (and your families’ stories) over the last 16 years is something I never take for granted. Thank you for the loyalty, the trust, and for allowing me to do what I love for so long.
Here’s to many more years and many more tail wags! 🐾 ❤️

My oldest client(aside from friends and family I started with) goes to- julie schwarz who had 2 dogs bo and Penelope who were the first 2 dogs I professionally shaved(their first shaved down to) at New Buffalo animal hospital in 2010(after 2 yrs of practicing and learning), they followed me to be groomed at my house in 2013, followed me to be groomed in Bridgman 2016-2020, followed me to be groomed in berrien springs 2020-2022, followed me to be groomed in St joe for P and Bos last grooms(I went to their house to groom bo his last groom) Penelope had her last in 2025. I got to meet the 2 new pups in 2026. 💕

Your senior pet didn’t suddenly become “difficult” for grooming.

Their body changed.

And sometimes those changes become noticeable on the grooming table before they become obvious at home.

As pets age, they gradually lose muscle.

Their joints become stiffer.

Their spine becomes less flexible.

Their skin becomes thinner and more fragile.

Their circulation may become less efficient, especially in the legs and feet.

Their balance, coordination, and ability to reposition themselves can also decline.

So when a senior pet is standing on the grooming table, they are not just standing there.

Their body is actively working to stay upright.

That takes energy.

A grooming session they tolerated easily five years ago may now leave them tired, uncomfortable, or physically unable to continue.

This is why senior pets may need more breaks.

Shorter appointments.

Modified grooming positions.

Less time standing.

A simpler haircut.

Or, in some cases, a groom that needs to be stopped before everything is finished.

And that can be difficult for owners to understand.

Because the pet they see walking around comfortably at home may struggle in a completely different environment where they are being asked to stand, balance, reposition, lift their legs, and tolerate handling for an extended period of time.

Grooming can also uncover changes that were not previously noticed.

Lumps.

Sensitive areas.

Skin changes.

Hidden matting.

Pain when certain parts of the body are touched or moved.

The groom did not necessarily cause these problems.

Sometimes grooming is simply where they become visible.

There may also come a point when the finished groom no longer looks exactly the way it did years ago.

Because with senior pets, cosmetic perfection cannot always be the priority.

Comfort has to come first.

Safety has to come first.

And sometimes the kindest decision a groomer can make is knowing when to modify the groom, simplify the haircut, or stop.

Senior pet grooming is not about forcing an aging body to tolerate what it used to tolerate.

It is about working with the body that pet has today.

This is why clear communication, realistic expectations, and professional boundaries matter so much when grooming senior pets.

Because aging changes the risk.

And understanding that before the appointment protects the pet, the owner, and the groomer.

What changes have you noticed in your senior pet as they’ve gotten older?

🐾 Stay Cool Out There, Pups! ☀️
Wow, the heat index is soaring, and our phones are ringing off the hook! 🌡️ Because we’ve had a huge increase in call volume from pet parents looking to keep their fur babies cool, it’s taking us a little longer than usual to return voicemails.
We want to make sure everyone gets taken care of, so here are a few quick updates:
⚡ For a Faster Reply: Skip the voicemail and send us a text at 269-757-2167! I can respond to texts much quicker between grooms.
🗓️ Priority Booking: As always, our regular clients have priority booking to ensure their pups stay on their routine schedules during this heatwave.
Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding while we work through the rush. Keep those pups hydrated and in the AC! 🐶❤️

The Rough Coated Collie is the epitome of elegance in the dog world, but that iconic, flowing double coat is definitely a labor of love!
Because their hair is so thick and prone to matting—especially behind the ears and around the legs—consistent professional care is a must to keep them looking like royalty and feeling comfortable.
We had the absolute pleasure of having one of these majestic pups on the grooming table today at Diggidy Dogs Grooming. After a deep deshedding treatment, a relaxing bath, and a thorough brush-out, this beauty is officially fluff-tastic and ready for the spotlight! 🐾✨

🐾 Don’t Let Your Pup Get forgotten! 🐾

We’ve been busy bees over here at Diggidy Dogs Grooming, and it looks like the secret is out! Our calendar is filling up faster than a Golden Retriever chasing a tennis ball. 🎾

📅 The Current Scoop:
Fully Booked: We are currently booked out several weeks in advance.

Looking Ahead: We are already taking appointments well into July!
If your furry friend is starting to look a little more "shaggy dog" and a little less "show dog," now is the time to act. Waiting until the summer heat hits might mean a much longer wait for that refreshing deshed or summer clip.

🧼 Why book now?
Beat the Heat: Ensure your pup is comfortable before the July humidity kicks in.
Guaranteed Spot: Secure your preferred date and time before they’re all gone.
Stay Fresh: Regular grooming keeps skin healthy and coats mat-free!

📞 Ready to schedule?
Give us a bark 2697572167 or online book to get your spot on the books!

Pro Tip: Ask about setting up a recurring schedule so you never have to worry about the "fully booked" blues again!
We can't wait to see all your wagging tails soon! 🐶✨

Community over competition, always. 🥂 As a groomer, I love hearing what makes people loyal to their shops. It’s how we all learn and improve! I’m focused on my craft, my clients, and continuing to provide the best care possible. I’m so incredibly grateful for the trust this community has put in me. 🐩 I truly believe every pet parent deserves to find the perfect fit for their pup, and I love seeing so many great local options being recognized! My goal is always to provide top-tier, award-winning service, and I’m so thankful for the growth this year has brought. Here’s to doing what we love! ❤️

Alarm goes off. Before I'm even fully conscious, before opening my eyes completely, there's a wet nose touching my face. Every single morning. For seven years straight. My dog's face is the first thing I see every day and it sets the entire tone differently.
Most people wake up and immediately check their phones. See news, emails, social media, everything designed to create anxiety before they're even out of bed. I wake up and see pure, uncomplicated love. A being who's thrilled I'm awake. Who's been waiting for this exact moment. Whose tail is already wagging before I've said a word.
There's no agenda in his morning greeting. He doesn't want anything except my attention and presence. Doesn't care that I look terrible or have bed hair or morning breath. Just cares that I'm awake and we can start another day together.
That changes everything about how my day begins. Instead of immediately stressed, I'm immediately loved. Instead of scrolling through problems, I'm petting my dog and hearing him sigh contentedly. Instead of rushing into anxiety, I'm starting with something that grounds me.
People ask how I stay so positive. This is how. Every single morning starts with a reminder that I matter intensely to at least one being. That I'm someone's favorite person. That love exists without conditions or complications.
My dog's face is my alarm clock, my morning meditation, my reminder that before the day gets hard, there's this moment of pure joy. Every morning. For seven years. Never gets old.

Dogs bring so much joy, and their care is always worth the effort. From the money spent to vet visits and even the occasional cleanup, the bond they provide is priceless. No matter what, dogs give back far more than they ever take, making every moment spent with them worthwhile.
