Wheekin' Rad Rescue

Hi everybody! I know its been awhile since I've posted, life has been crazy since the baby was born 😅 I'm posting today to ask for your help in honoring a very special dog. My heart dog, Farley, passed away a few months ago due to age complications. This dog has been with me through everything- leaving home and moving 14 hours away, coming back home, getting engaged and married, telling us our baby's gender, and being there to welcome us home from the hospital to name a few things. A few months after closing Wheekin' Rad, Sam and I began volunteering with an AMAZING humane society local to us, they are still pretty new at what they are doing, but are absolutely fantastic at what they do and helping pets and people! Farley would have been 15 years old this month on the 21st. We are hoping to make a donation to this amazing shelter in his honor at the end of this month, sometime around his birthday. ANNOUNCEMENT:

After a lot of hard conversations and consideration- we are sad to announce that Wheekin' Rad Rescue has come to an end. As many of you know, my husband and I had our first baby this year. Between a very hard pregnancy, recovery from a c-section, and just learning how to be the best parents we can be, it has become impossible to keep up with the public side of the rescue. While the piggies still get the same care, it has become impossible for me to effectively keep up with everything else that comes with having a rescue- responding to messages, planning and vending events, social media posts, new pictures, planning/scheduling adoptions/surrenders, and fundraising. I had to leave my job very early in pregnancy due to complications and we decided I would be a stay at home mom for our baby. Without being able to do events, it makes it much harder to pay for all the piggies things out of pocket on one income- especially when you don't know what condition they will be in when they arrive and without constant social media posts and events adoptions are hard to come by. As hard as this decision was to make, I know it is the right one for my family and myself. The remaining Wheekin' Rad piggies here at the rescue will stay here and live out the rest of their lives with us ❤️ Thank you so much to all of our followers for all of your support since the start of our rescue journey. We hate to see the end of this chapter, but we hope we made a difference while we were able ❤️

We don't just love guinea pigs here at the rescue, we love creatures of all kind! Today we went to The Tarantula Collective open house and met Clint from Clint's Reptiles! Clint's YouTube channel was the inspiration behind the name Wheekin' Rad Rescue, so it was super cool to get to meet him in person 😁 and I, coincidentally, had on my Wheekin' Rad shirt!

Announcement!:

My husband and I have been talking and have decided to take a step back from the rescue for the rest of this year to focus on our baby. While he did fantastic at the show in Moundsville, it was a lot for him and us to vend with a baby in tow! Because of this, we have decided to opt out of vending shows for the rest of 2025. Vending shows is our primary source of fundraising for the piggies, so while we will still be taking in pigs here and there we will have to scale back on how many we are able to accept until we can get back to vending. I will do my best to keep everything updated on our page, but even that is a little hard to keep up with with raising and caring for a new baby! Thank you for your patience and we are looking forward to seeing you all at different events in 2026!

Our littlest team member wants to remind everyone that even if you aren't prepared to adopt a real guinea pig, we have plenty of plushie piggies looking for forever homes! Plushie piggie adoptions are $15 and include: a plushie piggie of your choice, a take home box, and an adoption certificate!
