PSA to Rahn Hoof Care Clients:

The last 10 years, I have ran my business successfully, and I am so grateful for all my wonderful clients. My family has shared a lot of me with you, and at times, there is not a lot of me left over for them. That being said, I am having to make some changes as I move into the next chapter of my life. Moving forward, I will continue to strive for client satisfaction, but being a husband and father will be a number one priority. I will still offer an outstanding service, and truly believe I will be able to offer even better service going forward.

—A few of the following changes will be made once I am caught up from my leave:

1.- I will be sticking closer to business hours and won't be working late into the afternoon or evenings. Schedule permitting, I will offer some earlier morning appointments (6am if you’ll let me) , Saturday morning appointments, doing your horses by myself, or haul-in options in order to be home more for my family.

2.— Horses on my books during the busy season will be on a 6-8 week schedule unless otherwise specified/ agreed upon. That being said I will need to put you where you fit. There are some areas I do not get to as much as others, so you will be put where it works for me.

3.— Scheduling will be done at the end of an appointment to know when I am coming back. That will ensure a spot on my schedule. You will not be guaranteed a certain day or time unless specified. I only have so much time in a day and will not overwork myself because of lack of planning.

4.— If something is my problem, say a lost shoe (that I put on)or I need to reschedule an appointment (due to personal reasons), I will bend over backwards to help solve the problem in a reasonable amount of time as I am able. BUT if you have caused the problem, such as a last minute cancellation, skipping an appointment because the horses “don’t need it” or go longer on a set of shoes that a reasonable cycle and they lose one, I will do what I can but will not be taking time from my family to do so.

5.— I won’t be doing dangerous horses anymore. I cannot be hurt doing my job. I have a family provide for. Sedation is always an option, along with some old fashioned training.

6.— Finally, I am also implementing out of office hours. From 12pm Saturdays to 5 PM Sundays, I will not have my phone on me in order to spend uninterrupted time with my family.

As always I appreciate everyone’s support and understanding. I look forward to getting back to work and providing the best service I can.

PSA to Rahn Hoof Care Clients -

As many of you know, I am expecting the arrival of my first child in the next few weeks. With that being said, babies tend to come when they want to.

- Up until her arrival, I will have my phone on me during client appointments in case she comes when I am not planning it, and I am able to head home at that time.
- Appointments may have to be rescheduled because I am taking a few days off when she is born. All reschedules will be done as promptly as possible.
- During my time off, I expect the same level of respect that I offer to my clients. Understand that this is a time in my life where I will be unavailable. My family shares me with my clients more times than not, and this is a time that they get 100% of my attention.
- I will have a farrier covering emergencies for me during my time off. (Tyler Dewald 815-590-0061) However, please understand that he also runs a busy farrier practice and will do his best. I will put out all fires that he is not able to get to when I return back to work.
- Upon my return back to work, I will share a Facebook post, and you can get ahold of me for any needs at that time.

Ended the day today with a set of glue-on composite shoes on the front of a retired show horse dealing with chronic laminitis. Between proper shoeing, diet, and Veterinarian intervention, he is being managed in a way that we are starting to see improvements in his condition. Today he walked off more comfortable and sound than he has in a while. At the end of the day, that is why I do what I do. Hope everyone had a great !
