🐾 Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! 🐾

Veterinary technicians play an essential role in every part of patient care, supporting their teams, and making sure each animal receives the thoughtful, hands-on encouragement they deserve. This week, we’re celebrating two very important members of our team — Amanda and Grace! 🎉💙

Amanda is known by her staff as being a dependable and knowledgeable leader, who brings professionalism to everything she does, while always remaining lively and fun. She is a talented communicator who offers innovative solutions when challenges arise, and we all value her deep compassion for clients, patients, and coworkers alike.

Similarly, Grace demonstrates admirable leadership skills within her rehabilitation and hydrotherapy work, as well as with her fellow staff – who view her as a balanced mix of energetic and fun, and also incredibly diligent! She is dedicated and reliable with her clients, adapts to change with ease, and is always quick to step up whenever an extra hand is needed.

At Augusta K9 Center, these two bring their knowledge, experience, empathy, and plenty of patience to everyone they work with. From rehabilitation and hydrotherapy to helping our four-legged patients feel safe and supported during their visits, they make profound differences every day.

🍂 We're officially in our fall era!

Crunchy leaves, cooler walks, and a whole new world of smells to investigate… fall is full of opportunities for your dog to explore and enjoy the season!

Let them lead the way, stop to investigate those interesting smells, and explore at their own pace. All those new scents provide mental enrichment and give your dog a chance to engage their most powerful sense: their nose!

🐾 Pet Obesity Awareness Day | October 14

A little extra weight can make a big difference in how a dog moves, feels, and enjoys everyday life.

October is Pet Wellness Month, a great reminder that keeping our pets healthy is about more than an annual checkup. Wellness is something we can support every day through movement, nutrition, enrichment, recovery, and paying attention to the small changes.

A healthy routine can look different for every pet and every stage of life, but the goal is the same: helping them move better, feel better, and thrive. Wellness isn’t just one thing; it’s the whole picture! Small, consistent choices can make a big difference in your pet’s quality of life.

This October, let’s celebrate Pet Wellness Month by giving our four-legged family members a routine worth wagging about. 🐾

🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK: Domino 🐾

Meet Domino! This handsome 13-year-old Australian Shepherd has been coming to see us at Augusta K9 for rehab since August, and he’s quickly become a face we love seeing around the center. 💙

At 13, keeping strength, mobility, and confidence is all about finding the right balance -- and Domino has been putting in the work during his sessions. From exercises that challenge his balance and strength to activities designed to keep him moving comfortably, every session is another opportunity to support the things that matter most: mobility, function, and quality of life. Domino may have a few more years under his collar, but he certainly hasn’t retired from being an Aussie! 🐶

We’re so happy to have this sweet pup as part of our rehab crew. Keep showing us what you’ve got, Domino! 🐾

Dear Augusta K9 Center Family,

Many of you know Dr. Brandy Callison of Personal Vet Care, PLLC, who has dedicated years to bringing comfort, healing, and relief to our patients and community through her acupuncture services. Dr. Callison is known by so many of us for her kindness, gentle touch, and unwavering dedication to the animals in her care.

Right now, Dr. Callison and her family are facing an incredibly challenging chapter as her husband, Jeff, battles cancer. As they navigate treatments, travel, and the daily demands that come with this fight, they need our community's love and support more than ever.

🐾 Dog of the Month: Tilly 🐾

This month, we’re honoring a very special girl — Tilly, an 11-year-old Mountain Cur who stole our hearts during her time with us.

Tilly came to Augusta K9 Center for rehabilitation following her TPLO surgery, and she quickly became a favorite in the rehab room. She was focused and always ready to show us what she could do. From the underwater treadmill to paws up, cavalettis, and weight-shifting exercises, Tilly gave each session her all.

After just 5 sessions, Mom was already noticing a difference in Tilly’s mobility at home — a beautiful reminder of how meaningful even small moments of progress can be.

Sadly, we learned that Tilly passed away over the weekend. While we wish we could have had more time with her, we’re grateful that we got to be a small part of her journey and to know this sweet girl, even for a little while.

We’re honored to celebrate Tilly as our Dog of the Month and remember her for the progress she made, the determination she showed, and the impression she left on everyone who worked with her. ❤️

Run free, sweet Tilly. You will be missed. 🌈🐾
