Your puppy isn’t giving you a hard time. They’re having a hard time figuring out how the world works. 🐾
One of the biggest mistakes we make with puppies is expecting too much, too soon.
But puppies are babies.
They’re learning how to regulate themselves, communicate with us, navigate a completely new environment, and understand rules that make absolutely no sense to them yet.
And learning isn’t linear.
Your puppy might have an amazing week and then suddenly have an accident in the house.
They might know “sit” perfectly in your kitchen and act like they’ve never heard the word at the park.
They might sleep beautifully in their crate for three nights and struggle on the fourth.
That doesn’t mean your training isn’t working.
Management isn’t cheating. It’s how you prevent your puppy from acting on behaviors you don’t want while they’re still developing the skills you do want.
