I have no affiliation with this page, and they do not have permission to use any of my photos.

While I can’t say with certainty whether this page is legitimate, using someone else’s photos to advertise puppies is a major red flag. Please be cautious and do your research before sending money or placing a deposit with any breeder.

“Why does my dog behave so well for the trainer, but not for me?”

This is one of the most common questions I hear from dog owners.

The difference usually comes down to one thing: consistency and follow-through.

A trainer isn't necessarily doing anything magical. What the dog learns is that expectations are clear, rules are consistent, and boundaries are enforced fairly every single time. There is no confusion about what is acceptable and what isn't.

That doesn't mean trainers are frustrated, harsh, or constantly correcting dogs. Quite the opposite. The best results come from being calm, confident, fair, and consistent. Dogs thrive when they clearly understand the rules and can trust that those rules won't change from one moment to the next.

Many owners unknowingly create leadership gaps in their relationship with their dog. They provide endless freedom, affection, and privileges without requiring much accountability in return. Over time, that imbalance can lead to pulling on the leash, ignoring commands, jumping on guests, reactivity, and other unwanted behaviors.

The good news? If you're struggling with your dog, it doesn't mean you've failed.

It simply means the relationship needs a reset.

Your trainer can show you the process, but lasting change happens when you are willing to do the work too. Consistency at home is what turns training sessions into real-life results.

I've been there myself, and I've seen countless owners transform their relationship with their dogs. Change is absolutely possible when you're willing to put in the effort.

Your dog doesn't need a perfect owner.

They need a clear, consistent one.

One of the hardest parts of this journey is saying goodbye to puppies we have loved and raised from the very beginning. One of the best parts is the incredible families they go home to.

Today, one of our puppy families surprised me (and Maggie & Gus) with the sweetest gifts and heartfelt card when they picked up their puppy. Their kindness truly meant more than they know. ❤️

Breeding and raising puppies is a lot of work, but moments like this remind me why I do it. Watching these babies grow, getting to know the families who welcome them into their homes, and seeing the love they already have for their new puppy makes it all worthwhile.

Thank you for trusting Whiskey River Golden Retrievers with your newest family member and for taking the time to make me feel appreciated. I am so excited to watch your journey together and see all the adventures ahead.
