🐾 Pet Thought of the Week 🐾
"I was just helping... I did not know the stove k**b (or that dangling extension cord in the barn) could cause so much trouble!"
🐶🐱🐴
July 15 is National Pet Fire Safety Day!
According to the National Fire Protection Association, an estimated 500,000 pets are affected by house fires each year, and about 1,000 house fires are accidentally started by pets.
Help keep all your animals safe:
🔥 Keep pets away from stove k**bs, grills, candles, and fireplaces.
🔥 Use flameless candles whenever possible.
🔥 Include your pets in your family's fire escape plan.
🐴 Keep barns free of dust, cobwebs, and clutter that can fuel fires.
🐮 Use closed motor fans that prevent dust and hay particles from getting into the motor, which can cause a barn fire.
⚡ Regularly inspect barn wiring, outlets, and extension cords for damage.
🚜 Store hay properly, keep equipment well maintained, and store fuels and chemicals safely away from animals.
A few simple precautions can help keep every member of your family—inside the house and out in the barn—safe. ❤️🐾
