Wedgewood, a compounding pharmacy used by Centre Animal Hospital, has issued a limited recall out of caution. No products were contaminated; the dosing was slightly high or slightly low. Centre Animal Hospital has only dispensed two of the affected products, and we have received no reports of adverse reactions. The affected products dispensed by CAH include:

Gabapentin Tiny Tabs 50mg, and
Metronidazole Tiny Tabs, 50mg.

We use compounding pharmacies in animals for whom standard doses are not widely available. They serve an important purpose in veterinary medicine. Wedgwood continues to be our trusted partner for many of our specially prepared medications.

Pet owners who ordered these or other products directly from Wedgewood between February 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 should have been notified and directed to contact their veterinarian for a replacement prescription or alternative medications. Please visit Wedgewood’s link for more information at https://www.wedgewood.com/wedgewood-recall-information/

Thanks to everyone who participated in our autumn photo contest on Facebook! There were some wonderful entries, but our staff couldn't resist this Miniature Schnauzer, Mochi, with a leaf decorating her sweet little face. Mochi's owner, Karen Milander, requested that Centre County PAWS receive a $100 donation from us. Congratulations, Karen, Mochi, and PAWS!
