Dixie is doing awesome in our Advanced Obedience Program! I’m amazed at how well this dog is coming along, and her family deserves a lot of credit, too. They’ve put in a tremendous amount of work, and it’s really showing in her progress.

Next week, we’ll start our E-collar work and continue building on what she’s already learned. We’re proud of Dixie and look forward to seeing her continue to grow!

It always makes me laugh when a sweet dog gives you a little side-eye! This English Pointer is a great pup, and she’s been making great progress in her training. I’ve really enjoyed having her here and look forward to seeing pictures of her out running birds this season in Texas.

Meet Shai, the newest dog to join us here at HHK Dog Training! Shai is an Irish Setter starting our Basic Obedience Program, and what a beautiful dog he is. We’re excited to get to work with him and see the progress he makes over the next few weeks.

This is Chico! He’s finishing up our Advanced Obedience Program and will be heading home this coming week. He’s done a great job, and we’re proud of the progress he’s made. We’re looking forward to seeing him reunited with his family and putting everything he’s learned into practice!

Kennel Availability Update

We currently have a waiting list of five dogs. If you’re interested in enrolling your dog in one of our programs, please expect an approximate one-month wait. We’ll begin rotating dogs out and welcoming new ones this week, so availability should start opening up soon.

I truly appreciate the patience and support of all my clients. I know waiting isn’t always easy, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with each and every one of you and your fur babies.

This is Dixie. She just started our Advanced Obedience Program this week, but we’re doing things a little differently with her.

Instead of staying here with us, Dixie goes home with her family every day. We’re trying this approach to see if it gives us another way to offer our Advanced Program while allowing the family to be directly involved in the training process.

The goal is still the same—to help these dogs become the well-mannered, dependable family members they need to be.

We’re excited to see how Dixie progresses and what the future holds for this type of program.

This is Sadie, a German Shorthaired Pointer who’s going to be both an inside dog and an avid bird dog.

For most people, bird season is only about 3–4 months out of the year. That means the majority of this dog’s life is going to be spent in the house, not in the field.

So here at HHK, we’re not just teaching Sadie how to be a bird dog. We’re also teaching her how to turn those instincts off and learn how to settle down and manage herself when it’s time to be inside.

One of the simplest and most effective tools we use for this is an elevated platform. It gives the dog a defined place to stay and teaches them that they don’t always have to be busy.

This is a great tool that any dog owner can use, whether you have a bird dog or just a family dog.

I want to introduce y’all to Bull. He’s our 2½-year-old, almost 3-year-old English Pointer, and he’s become pretty special to me.

I adopted him last season, but the timing didn’t work out for me to get him trained, so he never got his chance in the field. Now the wait is over, and I can’t wait to get him out there and watch his first bird season unfold.

There’s nothing quite like opening day—the anticipation, the early mornings, and watching a good bird dog start putting it all together. Hopefully, we’ll be able to share some pictures from the field along the way.

I think y’all are going to see why Bull means so much to me. He’s one handsome dog, and I’m fired up to see what he can do this season. This guy has a lot of potential.

This is Steoger, a 6½-month-old Silver Lab who’s been with us for about two months. He’s coming along really nice, and we’re starting to see the pieces come together as we get him ready for his future as a hunting retriever.

He’s about to start hold conditioning, which is another big step in his training. We’re really proud of the progress he’s made so far and excited to see what this young dog can do in the field.

Still a lot of work ahead, but Steoger is headed in the right direction. God bless!

Chico is heading into his third week with us here at HHK, and he’s progressing really well. We started his E-collar training this past week, and he’s really coming along.

Chico is in our Advanced Obedience Program, which is designed to give dogs a solid foundation while teaching them the control and reliability they need in real-world situations.
