We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Dr. Muwanas and Dr. Card on Veterinary Appreciation Day. In our profession, veterinarians and veterinary technicians frequently encounter negative perceptions, being labeled as 'greedy' and 'motivated solely by financial gain.' Regrettably, we often face severe verbal abuse, threats, and emotional manipulation from clients who express sentiments such as 'you only want to help my pet if I pay a large sum of money.' The truth is that veterinary professionals enter this field driven by a deep affection for animals, spanning from large animal medicine to companion animals like felines, canines, exotics, and reptiles. Frequently, we find ourselves emotionally invested, often crying for patients that are not our own on our commute home and empathizing with the pet owners we interact with daily.

Recently, we were humbled by a heartwarming gesture from a pet owner whose dog was bitten by a rattlesnake and received tireless care from our team over three days, amidst a demanding schedule of other critical cases and surgeries. The dog has made a remarkable recovery, and the owners' gratitude has been overwhelming. We wish to remind everyone of the importance of kindness, whether interacting with our staff or visiting any veterinary facility. We are driven by our passion for animal welfare and our commitment to providing care, not by financial gain or personal recognition. We appreciate the kind words you bring to the clinic as well as patience and thoughtful gestures, such as bringing snacks, which are always welcome🤣🥰.

Happy National Veterinary Receptionist Week!

This week, we’re recognizing the incredible team members who keep our front desk running and our days on track. Our receptionists are the first friendly hello, the reassuring voice on the phone, and the steady hand behind the scenes, making sure every patient and client is cared for.

To our amazing team — Micky and Alora — thank you for your kindness, your patience, and your ability to juggle it all with grace (and a sense of humor!). You make a difference in more ways than most people ever see.

We appreciate you today and every day! Be sure to give them a little extra love if you see them this week!

This is called a “Pyometra”. It’s a very dangerous infection in the uterine commonly seen in UNSPAYED female dogs and cats.

Bacteria can enter the uterus often through the cervix leading to infection and pus accumulation symptoms may include, but are not limited to lethargy increase thirst, frequent urination and vaginal discharge .

This condition is considered and EMERGENCY!

Before thinking it’s a good idea to breed your dogs, remember this photo and think again what’s at risk.

K9 Deployment Leads to Methamphetamine Seizure in Payson

Late on Christmas night, Northern District Deputies conducted a traffic stop on State Route 260 in Payson for a civil traffic violation. During the stop, the Deputy observed indicators of criminal activity and deployed his K9 partner, Whiskey, for an exterior sniff of the vehicle.

K9 Whiskey went straight to work — after alerting to the presence of illegal narcotics, a search of the vehicle revealed approximately 19.6 grams of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested and booked into the Gila County Jail.

Holiday or not, our Deputies and K9 partners remain dedicated to keeping dangerous drugs out of our communities.

Great job to K9 Whiskey and his handler!
