Arenac Bay Veterinary Services Our mission is to provide high-quality medicine to both large and small animals. Arenac Bay Veterinary Services was established in 1978.

We continue to update our facilities, equipment, and knowledge to provide this while keeping cost of care at a level that allows as many clients as possible to care for their pets. We focus on building long-term relationships and are most proud of referral business that is generated because our clients trust us enough to recommend us to others.

Five pictures and five stages of veterinary medicine. Dr Jon is currently going on his 25th year of being a practicing veterinarian. Last year, Dr Taylor, who has been a veterinarian for 2 years, did her first equine castrations with Dr Jon’s assistance. Hailey, Dr Jon’s daughter joined him 3 years ago for a castration and a few weeks ago when Tina’s c**t was castrated. Hailey is currently applying to veterinary schools. Dr Taylor then had the pleasure of teaching two of the clinics assistants how to geld on miniature donkeys. Ann will be starting vet school at Michigan State University this fall and Sidney just completed her first year of undergrad at SVSU.
Teaching high school and undergraduate students is something we love doing here at ABVS. We actively have three students shadowing this summer and have two high school students planned for this fall. The doctors love the extra help on farm calls (snuggling the donkeys when they are waking up 😄) and mentoring the next generation of the veterinary profession.

We would like to share with you some bitter sweet news. As many of you may already know, Dr. Torei's last day with ABVS will be Wednesday 05/27/26. Her and her husband will be moving back down state to be closer to family. To say that we are sad to see her leave is an understatement, but we are truly happy for her and wish only the best for her in this next chapter. Not only is she an outstanding doctor, she is a good friend to many of us and she will be greatly missed.
Dr. Torei, we love you and want you to know that what ever clinic your feet land at, they will be lucky to have you, but Arenac Bay Veterinary Services door will always be open to you if you ever want to come back home ❤️
