Winnie Is Adopted! ❤️

We rescued Winnie in mid-May, and she immediately went into her foster-to-adopt home while we completed her vetting, including vaccinations, microchipping, and spay surgery. Now that everything is done, her adoption is official!

Winnie is the cutest little muffin. Tiny and full of personality, she was the runt of her litter, but she has found the perfect family and will be loved for the rest of her life.

Her new family includes loving parents and two human brothers who can't wait to play with her. This family is very special to us - they adopted a dog from us back in 2015 when it was just the two of them. Their beloved dog, Kali, grew up right alongside their boys from the day they were born. Sadly, Kali died at the end of last year after a battle with lymphoma.

In Kali's memory, little Gremlin Winnie has been saved from being killed at a shelter and will now enjoy a lifetime filled with love, adventures, belly rubs, and family.

We are always grateful when previous adopters come back to us when they are ready to welcome another dog into their lives. There is no greater compliment to a rescue organization.

Happy life, Winnie! ❤️🐾

Quite simply, this team is A+. There are very few clinics in the Northeast that specialize in high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter surgery, and Nutmeg is the very best. Their experience and skills are second to none. Just as importantly, they are some of the kindest, most compassionate people we have ever worked with. They share our commitment to reducing the number of dogs entering shelters and preventing unnecessary suffering through spay and neuter programs.

Spaying and neutering saves lives. It prevents unwanted litters, reduces shelter overcrowding, and helps stop the cycle of abandonment and shelter killing before it starts.

Including today's clinic, we have spayed and neutered 86 dogs so far in 2026 and an incredible 268 dogs since launching this program in April 2024.
