It’s been a wild ride, and one thing this sport has taught me is that you can’t do it alone. Anyone who says they’ve never needed help along the way, I feel sorry for them. There are a lot of people who have helped me get to where I am today, and plenty of people I’ve called with questions, looking for advice, or trying to learn something new.
I learn something new every day, and I know that will continue throughout my career in the dog game. Never be afraid to ask questions, pick up the phone, or reach out to someone. We’ve all been the new guy at some point, and there’s always something to learn from someone else. There’s no shame in asking for help. That’s how we grow.
A huge thank you to the Maryland Retriever Club for putting on a fantastic field trial! Thank you to the judges, volunteers, workers, and everyone behind the scenes who puts in the time and effort to make these events happen. And a special thank you to the landowners who allow us to use their property and make it possible for us to enjoy this sport. 🙏
The crew and I made the trip to Maryland and came home with some color! 🐕🏆
