Hyde Park Animal Hospital Veterinary Hospital We are a full service small animal veterinary hospital located in the beautiful Mid Hudson Valley of New York State.

We've been serving the local community for 40 years and are happy to care for dogs, cats, birds and exotic pets.

This week is going to be a HOT ONE! I hope everyone has their pools ready for some cooling down 🏊‍♀️
If you’re hot, imagine wearing a fur coat! 🔥🐶 please keep furry friends indoors as much as possible!
Our furry family members can overheat much quicker than we can. Know the signs and symptoms (excessive panting, lethargy, drooling, collapsing) and follow these tips to help prevent heat stroke 🥵
•Never leave your pet in a parked car. 🚙
•Do the 7-second pavement test before walking on asphalt ✋🏼 if it’s too hot to leave your hand flat on the pavement in the sun for 7 seconds it’s too hot for them to walk!
•Limit walks and strenuous play to early mornings before the sun is super hot 🌅 or evenings after it has cooled down 🌅
•Always provide fresh, cool water 🚿 and shade 🌲 while outside.
