💙 Caring for those who care for our pets

This Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, we’re taking a moment to recognize the people behind veterinary care: the doctors, technicians, assistants, receptionists, and every team member who shows up for pets and their families.

This work holds so much love. It can also hold grief, difficult decisions, and days that stay with us long after we go home. If you work in veterinary medicine and you’re struggling, please know you deserve care and support, too. Reaching out is a sign of strength.

To our fellow veterinary professionals: we see you, we appreciate you, and you matter. 💙

If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988. Veterinary professionals can also find peer support and resources through Not One More Vet at http://nomv.org

🐾 A small vaccine makes a big difference.

Rabies is a serious disease that can affect both pets and people. The good news is that prevention starts with a simple step: keeping your pet’s rabies vaccine up to date. Even indoor pets can have an unexpected encounter with wildlife, so it’s worth checking when their next vaccine is due.

If your pet is bitten by or has contact with a wild animal, call your veterinarian promptly. If you are bitten or scratched by an animal, wash the wound and seek medical care right away.

This World Rabies Day, take a moment to check your pet’s vaccine record. If they’re due, give us a call—we’d be happy to help keep them protected. 💙🐶🐱

We had an unexpected scare at Camden Veterinary Clinic today. Our lawn service, J&S Care Services, was mowing when the riding mower slipped on wet grass and tumbled into the water-filled ditch with the worker on it. He went to the emergency room, and we’re relieved to hear he’s expected to recover well. We’re thinking of him and wishing him a smooth recovery. ❤️

A huge thank-you to RepoSam Towing and Recovery for coming to help so quickly. He even went to get a chain and came back to help pull the mower out of the ditch! Sam is the kind of person who shows up when someone needs a hand, and it’s easy to see why he’s so loved in our community.

Thank you, Sam, for being there for our J&S Care Services crew today. We appreciate you more than you know! 🐾

Meet Snowflake! 🤍

Snowflake came to see us yesterday after taking a bit of a tumble. This sweet little ferret was an absolute angel during the visit, and we were delighted to meet them!

We’re happy to share that Snowflake is doing well and is back home with family, with pain medication to help keep them comfortable. Welcome to the family, Snowflake! 🐾

Is your pet slowing down? 🐾

A little stiffness after a nap, hesitation before climbing the stairs, or less interest in walks or play can be signs of arthritis. Cats may show it differently: jumping less, grooming less, or changing their usual routine.

Arthritis can be painful, but your pet has options for staying comfortable. After an exam, we can talk through a care plan tailored to them. PulseVet shockwave therapy is one option we may recommend for pets with arthritis. It uses sound waves, not an electrical shock, and can be used alongside other treatments when appropriate.

If your pet isn’t moving quite like they used to, give Camden Veterinary Clinic a call. Let’s help them enjoy more good days. 💙

🐾 Toe Beans Tuesday! 🐾

Meet Henwen! This sweet senior girl came in today for her wellness visit and senior bloodwork—and naturally, we had to admire those beautiful toe beans while she was here! 🫘

Henwen knows exactly what she likes: plenty of scratches and a few good butt slaps! 😂 She was more than happy to soak up all the attention.

Routine wellness visits and bloodwork are especially important for senior pets because they can help us catch subtle changes early—even when they seem perfectly happy and healthy at home.

Thank you for visiting us today, sweet Henwen! We loved getting to spoil you. 🤍🐾
